The wife and I are are in disagreement over tinsel on the Christmas tree. She hasn't put any on and I know we have some as I bought it last year. She says she doesn't like it and baubles and lights are enough. I think it looks as if there's something missing though but couldn't think of what it was at first.

So, tinsel or no tinsel? You decide. biggrin.gif

OMG can some mod or admin edit an option for yes in please.

Haven't had tinsel on the tree since the mid 00s now. It's kind of tacky and very 80s/90s looking.

Just like Joe said, tinsel is tacky and hasn't been on our tree for years. It can however be wrapped around the staircase banister.

Just out of interest have they let you back into Poundland again after the previous incident?

Please can we not bring this up again mellow.gif

I voted don't care, I think a tree can look really nice with tinsel but our main tree doesn't have any and I still think it looks good! Both can work.

OK I won't. Probably for the best. That comment deleted, can you do likewise with this bit and we can erase memories of that particular thread from history smile.gif

Tinsel is really nice imo and the more on a tree the better.

Tinsel is very tacky, with have ribbons and beads to bulk up the tree if it looks a bit bare, but tbf we have enough decorations to hang on nearly every single little branch. laugh.gif

Tinsel is the smell of Christmas. I won't have my tree without it.

My parents ditched it last year when they purchased a Christmas Twig because 'there's not enough room in our house-really? I thought all your kids moved out' and mainly populate it with bird decorations and a ghastly Christmas mermaid because my mum is obsessed. So tinsel or no tinsel, their tree is shit.

I used to like tinsel when I was little but nowadays it's just really tacky. Our tree usually has baubles, lights, the little beads and a few ribbons. We haven't had tinsel for a very long time now!
