Honestly after all these celebrity deaths and political disappointment and backwards social thinking I'm already hating the rest of this millennium.

Yo for the last 70 years the Western World has never known such stability, we've gotta get a paradigm shift one day and it might just be next year!

Well Trump will actually be president, so not a great start laugh.gif

Also I think the next few years will probably just be really bad for celeb deaths in general. As said in the George Michael thread (not related to him, 53 is no age), a lot of big celebrities from the 70s and 80s who've sustained success throughout the decades since will be reaching their 60s, 70s and 80s and could go at any time sad.gif

Yup, the first wave of world famous celebs are getting on unfortunatrly so I imagine 2017 will continue the trend.

Can we get a poll??

I think with Trump and Brexit and Le Penn things will o ly get worse. The paradigm shift is here, the stench of fin de siecle is in the air!

I hope so. Things is work should improve and it can't be worse than 2016 was in that regard. It'll be the first full year in my beautiful house and there's more Star Wars to come (prayers still with Carrie Fisher).

There will be big celebrity deaths, there always is, but I imagine it won't be quite like 2016. 2009 sticks out to me as a big year for celebrity deaths and although 2016 has felt even worse, these things tend to die down (pardon the pun).

With regards to politics, who the f*** knows what is going to happen?

there's got to be less big deaths next year surely?

although Trump could very easily make some terrible decisions next year when he's actually president, and who knows how the Brexit negotiations will affect us in the UK.

4 music legends have died, and many more great people have also left us. Surely 2017 can't be as bad in that aspect.

Politics wise I'm not so sure, Brexit and Trump will actually come into force, while Le Pen could very well become French President, so it could be as bad, maybe even worse.

In my personal life, I think and hope our financial woes will ease with my stepdad having finished off paying the house, and finishing off his farm in June next year (he's a farmer), plus the money from the land he's finally managed to sell off. I'm expecting to do a lot more travelling, so hopefully better there aswell.

It won't be a good year for the world (it's hard to imagine there will be another one of those until at least 2021 for fairly obvious orange-faced reasons) but hoping it should be another pretty good year for my personal life. Although I am very worried about more uni exams / the rest of second year / the start of third year if I make it that far.

So many talented losses and few nasty or evil people among them. I would like to see a few rich racist lying selfish spreaders of hate end up in group maker-meeting gatherings by the end of 2017. Just for balance.....

Politically things will get much much worse. Brexit is just starting and years of misery and poverty lie ahead, with the tories taking the opportunity to attack democracy and free speech and fairness, and no opposition on the horizon. The scale of this in the USA will be far worse as Trumps fascists either rip apart the constitution or create mass chaos and crisis through sheer hate and stupidity and greed.

Make no mistake, democracy is under threat and Trump wont go unless he's pushed.

Ugh... wish the 2016 was better.
As for expectations, I wanna find a job, decide where to go travelling and earn some for travelling (it'll be my first visit to Europe). Wish Europe won't be separated due to possible Le Pen invasion. Don't think Trump will be such a pain in the ass, cuz everyone understands (I suppose) that most of his freakish things are considered to be overPRed (I don't support him anyway).
Wish all the trash related to my country and neighbours will stop asap.
Peace everyone.

2017 will be grand. Everything bad you think will happen in 2017 won't happen. The only celebrities that will die will be ones that you either were only vaguely aware of or assumed were already dead. Every politician that you fear will enter power won't enter power. Every politician who you fear in power won't do any of the things that you fear they'll do. The O-Zone layer will get its act together and finally decide to close itself. Kate Bush will release a new studio album. And I'll win lots of money on a popular ITV gameshow.
