So. As much fun as sitting at home watching TV is. I've decided I should probably get myself a hobby.

So I am intrigued. What are the hobbies of BuzzJackers?

What should I "take up"?

If you want something that gets you out the house and that you can enjoy on your own or with others, and you can do night or day, anywhere, and that is inexpensive, my suggestion would be take up photography.

I enjoy it as a passive hobbie whenever I find myself in a place with a view.

I played football for around 12 years and it was amazing, the only reason I don't play now is through injury sad.gif I'd recommend taking up any sport though, they are a lot of fun and it keeps you fit! I also enjoy doing this thing called zentangle which is basically just drawing all these patterns and stuff but its really calming (hence zen) so you should look it up! I've been trying to learn to play the drums recently as well! so I'd recommend pretty much any sport, learning to play an instrument or zentangle biggrin.gif

Oooh that sounds really fascinating! biggrin.gif

I've never heard of zentangle before but I love discovering new things!

In just those few sentences you've given me a completely different view of yourself and that's great! cool.gif

I used to play football for years too! tongue.gif

I don't know if that's a good thing or not laugh.gif Here's a video with some basic zentangle techniques if you are interested! I usually don't do them in little squares but just as one whole thing together, I'll try and find some pictures of ones I've done if you like? biggrin.gif

Oh idk if I have a hobbie as such, I usually say listening to/searching for new music kink.gif I guess my course/my future career is basically my hobbie too, drawing, designing, photography, anything artsy really. I'd love to take up something new though, I've done sports, played instruments etc in the past but nothing really stuck. I think I saw playing an instrument as more of a chore though as I was playing it in school for exams too. Quite a few of my friends cross-stitch and say its really calming, I don't think i'd have the patience for that though laugh.gif

laugh.gif Sorry I didn't mean it to sound rude, what I meant is that I probably don't know a lot about you and finding out that piece of information really fascinated me! smile.gif

When I was younger I used to like to make things. Art Attack was my favourite show to watch after school!

When I left school I chose to be a carpenter, because I was quite proud of the coffee table I made as my school GSCE project.

I achieved NVQ level 2 in my apprenticeship but decided that it was more of a hobby/craft than an actual career. smile.gif

I had to check as I'd not heard this, but Neil Buchanan is still alive (according to Wikipedia).

My hobbies include thinking and staying up too late on Buzzjack.

Nah, I'm not sure what kind of hobby you're feeling drawn to, but like others have said, photography is a good hobby. I'm considering taking it further as well. I'm also fascinated with pretty much anything to do with psychology so nerd out on things like Myers-Briggs kink.gif *tumbleweed*

That zentangle thing looks cool, I didn't know it had a name, I used to draw as well but not so much anymore. I love visiting art galleries and stuff though, thank god there is one in this boring little town lmao

that's okay I didn't take it to be rude I just wasn't sure if this new information was an improvement or not laugh.gif

I'm kind of limited to the pictures I can send because I left my sketch pad in Edinburgh, so all I could find on my phone was these 2 biggrin.gif

thanks! well I get distracted very easily so it takes a few days with a couple of hours drawing each day. But any other person could probably do that after a solid three hours or less tbh

All of my hobbies are things that I do solo - running, biking, eating, and listening to music. I think I need to either find people to include in one of those, or find a new hobby to do with other people. Photography is one I've thought about before, would be cool to bring a person along.
