2017 is finally here, and I wondered if anyone's got their new diaries ready for this year and how they use it.

I guess you're either one of 2 people;

Do you use a diary to plan for the future, or do you use a diary to record your thoughts at the end of each day?

Discuss. smile.gif

I've never had a diary. If I had to remember some dates etc I'd just use the calendar on my phone!

I've never kept a diary and I think it's because I have such a good memory. This is also why I rarely take photos.

I record appointments and days when I am on/off. I also write in when I am doing cover for the other team.

I use the calender on my phone for plans/events etc but as I've mentioned before, as I've mentioned before, I did keep a "thoughts" journal this year using Penzu, there's an app and a website for it laugh.gif

I'm the same when I've got them in the past, everyone just uses their phone and a reminders app.

I forgot you mentioned that before, I'll check it out. I've used similar apps before like Evernote and Day One which are journal apps too, but I never end up sticking to it after a few days or weeks.

I have an online journal which is kinda similar, started it in December 2003 so going over thirteen years now.

Used to update virtually every day, but just the occasional entry these days now my life is no longer a blur of fun and partying anymore.

I tried a 'thoughts at the end of the day' type of diary a couple of times when I was young but quickly got bored / gave up (it was the sort where you could write in the weekly top 10 chart too laugh.gif)

Bought a planner diary at some point last year from Paperchase because it looked very pretty, didn't get much use. I can remember things or record stuff on my phone or other devices if necessary

I don't keep a diary (we call them planners), like T Boy my memory is good enough to stay on top of things. I do keep one in my office though because the guy I work with is entirely the opposite. As for recording thoughts and stuff, I do that only when I feel the need, and not in a specific place so they're kinda scattered everywhere, online and offline. laugh.gif

I used to be great at keeping a diary when I was younger - I kept it up solidly for a few years! It was one of those record your thoughts at the end of the day type ones, with a 'dear diary...' entry a day without fail and it was absolutely full of lists as well, as I was a bit of an obsessive child. It was lots of fun but I lost the motivation as I got older, I returned to it a few times but could just never keep it up the same way so just gave up.

I probably SHOULD invest in a planning diary for Uni though, would help massively for keeping up with so many deadlines that are coming up
