Will do a proper comment later but yeah, so shocked at the Amy Adams snub and as much as I love Meryl, there were way better performances this year (Hugh Grant was probably better in the film and even he got snubbed!) Also really sad for Aaron Taylor-Johnson who was one of my supporting actor highlights and I thought things were looking more likely after the Golden Globes, he was way more memorable than Michael Shannon for the same film anyway!

Shocked and appalled by Amy and Jessica's snubs. Meryl and Ruth's performances were....
And Octavia I LOVE as an actress but her performance in Hidden Figures was very MEH, if anything Taraji should have been nominated instead. Great to see some more diversity but I can't help but feel some of these performances have been shoehorned in to avoid controversy. So so pleased for Naomi Harris though, what a talent. |

Most nominees now in first post!
Still shocked and gutted for Amy Got 4/5 in Actor (and I was predicting Garfield for Hacksaw as well but forget to change it ugh!), 4/5 in Actress (Negga instead of Adams), 4/5 in Supporting Actor (Shannon for ATJ) and 5/5 in Sup Actress! EDIT: The Official Oscar website has Adams & Tom Hanks as nominees Now gone but who knows wtf is going on?!! |

Oscars website had Amy instead of Ruth and quickly changed it. |

Amy should definitely be there over Meryl. Arrival the only BP nominee to not be in any of the acting categories..
Aside from Meryl being up for being Meryl though, I think this looks like a strong set of nominations, have three Best Picture nominees still to watch and assuming they live up to expectations from the trailers, everything in that category should be at least 7/10 for me (I rated all of "The Big Short", "The Revenant" and "Mad Max" lower last year). An entirely different 20 people in the acting categories to last year, that's cool. I'm most pleased about Lucas Hedges, and Viggo Mortensen, hopefully "Captain Fantastic" can get a bit more recognition around here now. |

I shall also comment properly, but for some reason I fully expected Amy to get snubbed and I really don't know why!

I am not surprised for Amy to be honest, I found every other nominated actress to be much stronger than her.

Amy is not a surprise unfortunately, but still sad to see. Should have been there.

Crazy to think how much all the films chances have changed up until the moment too (like every year which makes it so interesting)! Early frontrunners like The Birth of a Nation, Billy Lynn and The Founder totally dried up and even those looking to do well closer to the time like Sully, Loving, 20th Century Women and Silence all ended up with just one nomination each, at one point I really did think the likes of Joel Edgerton, Tom Hanks and Liam Neeson were going to make the cut!

Brilliant that both 'City Of Stars' AND 'Audition' got nominated in original song. Can we expect a performance by JT on the night? *.*

This is a f***ing travestry. To be fair her performance, whilst great, is fairly low key and obviously having that and Nocturnal Animals doing the rounds probably split her vote too much. It's a shame because I was really hoping this would be HER YEAR. She's going to get one eventually though, just hopefully not a ''career Oscar'' like so many have in the past. |

If Amy should have got a nom for any performance it should have been Nocturnal Animals. I don't think her performance in Arrival was nomination worthy really.

Also, the Oscar-nominated Suicide Squad anyone? Can't be often a critically panned film like that manages to get into an awards ceremony like this! Poor Batman v Superman didn't quite manage it Very pleased to see The Lobster get a nom, wonderfully quirky little film. Finding Dory snub in animation is mildly surprising, I mean they did win with Brave before. Looking forward to making my way through the Best Picture nominees~ This post has been edited by Chez Wombat: 24th January 2017, 07:00 PM |

Amy clearly was nominated and they changed it last minute going by the Oscars website.
