Simple question.

It's always interested me, especially as the belief rate is dramatically falling in western culture year-on-year. Obviously I encourage people to discuss/debate and talk about what is logical to them personally...But obviously I'd say be mindful of belittling other people's views.

No, and never did really. Not to discredit to disrespect the beliefs of others, but to me I just can't really subscribe to the thought of someone in the sky with a divine power.

I don't believe in god, heaven and hell. I do believe there was a man named Jesus 2000 years ago, but I don't believe he performed miracles, I think it was more like 'magic tricks', which back then nobody really understood.

People find it strange that I believe in the paranormal but I don't believe in god. I think what happens when we die is a totally different subject. Demons and stuff though I'm not too sure about, I think there are bad spirits but not in the god vs the devil kinda way.

I used to go Sunday school up until I was about 11 but I never really believed in any of it then and I'd always question everything. I got told not to come back eventually laugh.gif

Unsure, I don't consider it of personal importance to myself to figure out if the Judeo-Christian God or any other gods exist or not, I do sort of believe that something exists on a higher plane of ascension but do not consider it important to my day-to-day life. Raised in a Christian family so I used to fully believe but just found it less important as time went on.

I do enjoy going to religious rituals though, to be respectful to the beliefs of others and see what they believe - the whole construct of religion is fascinating to me.

No.

Besides, just because we believe in something doesn't make it true. We should focus on science.

Btw I'm not going to come back to this thread bc it's clear I'm in the minority and I'm never good with debates.

Nobody's gonna judge you for your beliefs/ argue with you so I wouldn't worry giving your opinions.

I've always been really open to possibilities and all sorts of ideas, but I can't say I've ever had a belief in god. Like Iz, I'm somewhat fascinated by the concept of religion(s) though, and enjoyed learning about different religions years ago.

Yeah I agree too, I do think Jesus was real but I think maybe he just did a lot for people and was very charitable and that was a bit exaggerated to him being our lord and saviour perhaps. Of course we'll never know laugh.gif

I like Iz's agnostic answer: maybe, but we have things to be getting on with in life that these questions don't really play a large part in our typical day.

I do believe in God, but don't really follow any set religion.

Certainly recent events such as what is happening in Syria and Iraq do test your faith though.

My answer is similar to Iz's really. I was baptised and most of my mum's side of the family are very religious, so I was brought up believing in God and had religion forced on me a lot. I wear a religious necklace but only because it was a prized possession of my great grandma's and she left it to me when she died. The belief in God faded as I got older and I guess I'd identify as agnostic now. I have wondered SO much about this in the past and just accepted that I'll never know so there's no point in putting much importance on thinking about it. I'd lean more towards non-belief as there are loads of things that don't make sense / anger me if God were real and I am more inclined to believe scientific reasoning, but WHO KNOWS so I'm open to possibilities.

No/Never Did. I wasn't raised in a religious household at all and whilst I respect people's right to worship/practice their religion wherever they wish I believe that it is ultimately a detrimental force in the world.
