It's become apparent to me that Taahino does have a certain predictability when it comes to our entries. If it's a rock band with a female lead vocalist, it's typically Taahinian #GirlsWithGuitars laugh.gif

That's not to say I wont mix it up more in the future, most of you do keep it varied but if you had to pick out one thing that defines most of your entries what would it be? What about other countries, what is it that you first associate with them? ohmy.gif

Definitely indie-pop! Nearly all of my entries since Home have been indie, mostly with pop influences, with the obvious exception of Surfboard Fire (which is also indie, tbh)

~whatever I'm obsessed with at the time of confirmations~

Really though, I used to say electropop??? I also recently noticed that like five of my entries have rap-like vocals in parts ('Calm Down', 'Alchemy', 'Father Hu$$la', 'Álmatlan' + 'Undercover Girls'), which... idk how that happened cos I don't REALLY associate myself with rap. But none of those entries are pure hip-hop or whatever, it's more indie/trip-hop/alternative rnb stuff that just happen to make use of rap-like vocals. I enjoy being quite varied in BJSC!

Lately? Hard rock, or j-pop. Or both in one.

I used to mix it up far more, I just have so much of those two that I love right now that it's hard for me to find other songs that I love as much. I'd love to diversify but it's become harder lately.

Female fronted electro-pop which is just about the most common genre THERE IS. I've been around for almost 60 contests now so I've had a pretty wide range of entries, some dance, some instrumental, some pure pop but the 2012 entries like The Storm - Raver, Florrie - To The End are probably those which I think best sums up the bombastic, joyous pop sound which I try to go for as often as possible.

I feel like I am mostly defined by synths and witchiness these days! Though I do like to switch it up from time to time.
