IMO there should be no more than two artists credited on any song, as it is often just an ego trip - but what you you think?

Remember the Chris Brown album tracks on iTunes when the songwriters were mistakenly all credited as well. And also the iconicness of One Republic - Apologise (ft Timbaland, Timbaland, Timbaland and Timbaland) laugh.gif

Many of the biggest hits of 2016 had 3 or more artists credited on the song!

Major Lazer f/ Justin Bieber & MØ - Cold Water
Drake f/ Kyla & Wizkid - One Dance
Clean Bandit f/ Sean Paul & Anne-Marie - Rockabye

What's more important, all the major singers and producers getting credited for their work... or your OCD?

I'm not sure what OCD stands for in this context, but it certainly hasn't always been the case that all participants on a record have been given credit - so what changed?

Would you say that all vocalists on a track should be credited (even if it's more than two) ? Or is this aimed towards producers of a song tagging themselves onto the credits?

I really don't see an issue with the number of credits in a song, so what if a large group of people collaborated?

Look at it this way. You were one of the five people who collaborated on the song in absolutely equal measure but the SUPER OFFICIAL CREDIT RULE OF THE CENTURY claims there are only four spots. You draw the short straw and don't get credited for your work.

One question should stop this pointless discussion because you won't be able to provide an adequate logical answer: What is the point?

Also anyone remember The Collective feat. Wretch 32, Ed Sheeran, Labrinth, Tulisa, Tinchy Stryder, Rizzle Kicks, Ms. Dynamite, Chipmunk, Mz Bratt and Dot Rotten - Teardrop? Yep, that was a thing. Think that's the record for artists credited on a chart hit too.

A couple of artists less than the above example, but this is one of the credits given to the charity single 'Just Stand Up!':

Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Natasha Bedingfield, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Carrie Underwood, Keyshia Cole, LeAnn Rimes, Ashanti, Ciara & Mariah Carey

Far better when a solo artist has a really long name that suggests a huge band like.. The Len Goodman Independent Artists For Online Kindness
