This may seem like an odd topic to make since people pretty much always talk about their interests here anyway, but the thread creator in me is still itching at times and I think it will be interesting to read and I have nothing better to do right now anyway. So if you had to sum it up or even delve further into it, what interests do you have and what do you actively do to ~develop~ them? Do you have any unusual interests that maybe not many people know about, such as astrophysics or Tarot card readings? lol idk

I care more about reading others' responses than writing my own here at the moment, but I should probs write something anyway to start this off happy.gif

Music is obviously a big one for nearly everyone on this forum, and that goes for me as well. I'm always going through what I call my "musical evolution" whereby my taste develops and I start to explore / listen to new stuff. Photography (and to a lesser extent, videography) has been a running theme for me as well, trying to develop that at the moment by doing and learning as I go ~

And I think it's no secret that I'm into Myers-Briggs and other things of that nature lmao, that's something I picked up over the years because I've always simply been interested in psychology.

When I was a kid, I was a map freak, but now I can barely make my way around mellow.gif

Quite an obvious thing to say but I have a massive interest in the UK Charts. Particularly the history of them rather than the current state, but I do still tune in weekly. I am always looking at old charts dating back to the 1950s and just absorbing as much information as I can about them. I made Spotify playlists for every #1 and #2 single which was no quick task, also laugh.gif The 90s and 00s charts are my favourite ones to delve into.

I feel like most of my interests are music-related! Because the Now! franchise and collecting vinyl are the other things that are immediately springing to mind. I suppose I take an active interest in the news as well as a journalism student. So that results in me having a love for quizzes. Sociology and psychology are also subject fields that interest me greatly.

I used to have a HUGE interest in gymnastics but that faded a bit as I've gotten older. I am also very fast so running was something I was interested in, but I've become quite unfit over the years kink.gif so basically most interest in sports has waned.

I have a huge interest in everything related to WW2. I have a closet full of books and dvds about the war and always love to hear the stories about the war from my grandparents.

Football, especially my beloved West Ham, and international football too captures the imagination.
Going to the gym (in phases) and working out/running. Nutrition as well.
Music - particularly urban music genres and finding what songs might crossover.
History (as my degree) especially modern History and the First World War is my specialist subject
Human behaviour especially in romantic settings - fascinates me to debate why people act the way they do and understand yourself too.
Suppose I can be interested in my appearance too, but again that's in phases.
TV - lots of comedy (normally British) and a few guilty pleasures like Corrie, EastEnders and Celebs Go Dating. laugh.gif

I have so many interests at the moment laugh.gif

I'm hugely interested in Pink and developing the 'PinkHistory' project which I started in 2010, it takes up a lot of my time.

I also love to create things, handmade cards, seeing what kind of handmade crafts I can come up with. A lot of the time I fail miserably but I enjoy trying new things out to see what I'm good at.

At the moment I'm addicted to listening to podcasts and watching documentaries about true crime, especially serial killers. I'm fascinated by what makes their mind work, how they get caught and what happens to them etc. I also love learning about Haunted locations and strange events. Quite often on my breaks at work, if I'm not looking for other jobs on The indeed app, I'll be in a Wikipedia hole learning more about whatever podcast topic I've been listening to that night laugh.gif

I would say my top interests are music/radio and TV/Film. I also am interested in gaming and books. I am not much of a sporty person and tbh that could be because I don't associate with people who do

Music (ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ) Movies/TV shows (usually sci-fi/adventure but quite broad taste like with music)

Spirituality is a recent one, and I can get really into topics about life, how people think, emotions, basically all that sort of stuff that most people would just go "Oh yeah, right" to laugh.gif There is a major downside to this for me though that sometimes makes me wish I was different when it gets too much though, like I have something similar to bipolar/schizo but at least it doesn't happen all the time tongue.gif

I like retro video games too, the modern ones seem too complex these days, so many unlockables and it's too much for me to take in laugh.gif

It would benefit me a lot to have more interests to play around with though, to distract me from my issues in life, but I'm getting there I think biggrin.gif

Well, besides music my main interest is food. I love going to restaurants, making food and shopping for food, and probably talk about food more than anything else.

I studied architecture and city planning, so buildings and maps are also major interests of mine. I love traveling just to see how different towns and cities are laid out and what the houses and other buildings look like.

Also interested in sports but not as much as I used to be. Baseball is my favorite but I can enjoy watching just about any sport. I'm pretty active with running and biking, and to a lesser extent yoga.

As for a weird interest, I like reading about body image and am always looking for articles and such to read about that. It's really helped me come to terms with my own struggles and insecurities.

Well, besides my interests in music, history and anime, which I end up talking about one of in probably the majority of posts I make here for reasons of a) it's a music forum b) there are few topics of conversation that I can't relate to history in some way and c) I like making jokes no one will get and the art style of anime feels really strong for my identity purposes.

Yeah, besides that, I really like maps and flags, which I guess connects to history a lot too but geopolitics is something that I am always wanting to monitor changes in and see where it changed in the past, and the fact it can be represented by pretty visuals is fascinating. And that is how I explain my interest in Eurovision. Add to that etymology, which also connects to history but I always find it interesting learning how places got their name and how everything got their name really.

I also love running around new places and taking them in, especially in good weather, and I spend quite a bit of my summers doing that, running, that is. This would be my main reason to travel and I want to travel more, as basic as putting that down as an interest feels, I just want to experience being in all sorts of new places, good views, peninsulas, corners, new cities, people, languages.

And then there's strategy gaming, I love outsmarting other people/an AI in games, it really makes me feel in control sitting in front of a game knowing all the options laid out to me and working towards a goal within the game.

Musically, my taste is currently retro chart and songs from the musicals and classical.

I am an avid reader and currently have a reading list which I am working my way through, the genres of the books vary a bit. Most of the books are by 19th century writers such as Dickens, the Bronte sisters and Austen. However it does include more recent writers. I also read royal biographies, one I am currently reading is about Victoria.

I love visiting historic churches and I am hoping to visit every single one in Norfolk. Allied to this is an enjoyment of cathedrals, I am hoping to visit as many as possible.

Finally, I love public transport. I enjoy heritage running days when old buses are used. I also regularly use the buses when I am not working.

I'm really interested in modern german culture (aka anything post 1900!). Im incredibly lucky that i get the opportunity to study it full time, and as a result I'm finding myself more interested in general European culture! I'd say I'm especially interested in novels, short stories and film but I'm also so intrigued by reading borders, architecture and plays! I'm obviously particularly interested by anything to do with gender and it's representation across various modes of text <3333

Aside from that I'm interested by politics as a lot of you are already aware so I won't dwell into too much! Non academically I'm a huge nature lover, and really enjoy walking in local forests or beaches when I'm back home

I'm a huge fan of the charts / modern music in general as you may have noticed heehee.gif. That's probably my biggest obsession, when I'm not listening to music I'm thinking about music, or making up collaborations between artists in my head.

Also, I love climbing. I don't really talk about it much on Buzzjack but there's nothing better than climbing up the side of a building or some sort of structure. Urban exploration is a massive passion of mine and I try and do it whenever possible. Travelling also ties in with that, I can't wait to explore new places alone or with friends this summer when I know I'm out of education for life.

Really have a love for snowboarding and cross country skiing. Britney Spears advocate. I have a passion for animals so I also volunteer and take fosters in until they are adopted, haven't been able to do it as much with my jobs. Also, I'd say this board, tbh.
