just saw this on twitter and thought it was an interesting question! do you feel like you suit your real name, and if not is there a name you prefer? then of course we can extend it to our buzzjack usernames here, for those of you who have a diff bj name to their real name (e.g. silas/phil) do you have a preference what people call you?

discussss

i'm probably going to be one of the only people to answer this but NO i don't feel like i suit my real name. that is because my real name is (as many of ya'll know) charlotte. it's a nice enough name but i dont really feel like it suits me, i WAY prefer lotti (fun story, my parents started calling me lottie from birth, in primary school i changed the spelling to lotty and then changed it to lotti in year 7, queen of rebrand). whenever people call me charlotte genuinely it really throws me, i still use it on all official applications though as technically it's the name matching up on my ID

obviously my bj name here is just a slight spin on lotti so i dont rlly get anyone call me lotita instead. i like how lotita sounds when spoken out loud tho so i might start calling myself it more x

Ooh this is a tough question!! I think I do suit my name but I can't pinpoint exactly why laugh.gif perhaps because the name has Spanish origins and I look quite Spanish with my heritage, so my name kinda suits my looks if that makes any sense? My middle name is Lauren but I could never picture that as my first name. Also even one letter off my name 'Jane' I don't think would suit me laugh.gif I like my name anyway and I would never want to change it. My nicknames have always been 'cute' kinda nicknames like Jadey or Jadakiss and I don't mind those alternatives being used either.

I don't think I suit Regina because I'm not a girl. My parents dealt me a bad hand there.

I could never really imagine being called anything other than Joseph! When I was younger, I once said I wanted to be called Joe, so my parents told my teacher and everything, then a few days later I decided I didn't like it laugh.gif people have always presumed I prefer Joe without asking. Some teachers never quite got the hang of it, including one who I had on and off for five years... :') Joey is a better nickname although I'll still prefer Joseph. It's my surname I dislike more than my first name for sure.

Same!! There's nothing WRONG with my surname per se but it's just so common. I wish I had ended up with a cool surname like my great grandma's - 'Arca-Suarez' *.*

Parents clearly jumping on the bandwagon of naming their kids after Bratz dolls tbh x

Ah hem...

As a fellow Andrew, I've always felt my name suited me, but I did opt to shorten the name people called me at around 16 years old, to Drew and for many years both online and offline that's what I went by. I think in fact at the time I took the name from a male character in the soap Neighbours. ohmy.gif

I later lost interest in the name, and most people opted to call me Andy which in fact I detest. Andy just seems much more of a common name than Andrew, and I never thought of myself as an Andy, so I don't ever refer to myself as an Andy. Other names people would call me in life are And, Ange and Wardy (as my surname is Ward). Wardy seems to have stuck too, but I prefer not to refer to myself as a Wardy as that is less original I feel and could be used to describe any of my family or relatives.

awardinary is my chosen online alias since around 2013 I think and I am happy with it. smile.gif
