Given that Luis Fonsi's 'Despacito' is coming for the UK #1 tomorrow, I feel like there no other option than to open a Latin music forum, as the current genres are too restricting. We can also use this forum to discuss other Latin favs such as Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, JLo and of course Pitbull, who has a new album out about global warming.

No. Latin music like K pop or J pop is a wide range of genres including pop/R&B/dance/hip hop/rock depending on the style of the individual song so can be discussed in the relevant forum for its style of song.

Of course you can't assume every member from Latin America likes Latin music though!

Separate latin threads in the pop forum, urban, dance and indie, rock and alternative would be a better idea. You cannot put latin music all into the same box as there is so much variety. Latin music is often linguistically defined ie. by only really having the fact the songs are in Spanish or Portuguese in common, apart from that it is just a pop, indie, urban song etc. I know acoustic guitar with a distinct Latin sound is often used in latin music but not always.

You do know this is a joke, like most of the featured thread requests.

A forum for Pitbull and you don't think to include me? Disgraceful!

I vote no.

I love Latin music but I don't think there is enough material or interest to warrant an entire forum for them.

I don't mind it actually, its not going to take much away from other forums, and it would attract more guests to register to the site, especially in the European region of the world. I actually voted yes.
