So the election is over, almost all 650 seats have declared. (Well, 649 with Kensington going to 3rd recount at 6pm)

What have you woken up to this morning? The Conservatives have lost their Majority in Westminster and will now govern with the support of the DUP. Labour sprung a fightback that was unthinkable just hours ago and would get you locked up in an mental health institution when this election was called. Unionist forces in NI and Scotland bloody the nose of the nationalists with the DUP up two and the SDLP down 3 for a wipe out. UUP also wiped out. SNP down 21 seats to 35, including what is now the countries most marginal seat with the SNP majority in Fife North East just 2 votes. Scotland's Unionist vote swinging round the Tories sees the SNP lose important MPs including Angus Robertson and Alex Salmond in a swing against IndyRef2 that has kept the Tories in power.

Diane Abbot survives a campaign of smears and attacks to increase her majority to 35,000 and become the countries safest seat. (as a % of vote share)

Caroline Lucas further increases her majority and Leanne "Natalie" Wood gaining a target seat to wipe out the LibDems in Wales.

UKIP lost their seat, millions of votes and their leader.

Final Tally:
Con - 318
DUP - 10
(Speaker of House - 1 - Counted as part of the Tory 318)

Lab - 261
SNP - 35
LibDem - 12
SF - 7
Plaid - 4
Green - 1
Indy - 1

Turnout is up to 68.7% with reports that the Youth vote could be as high as 72%! 200+ Women have now been returned to Parliament, edging closer to equal representation.

In percentage terms some of the Liverpool seats are even safer than Diane Abbott's.

That's a shame. I'd read that her support of like seventy something percent was the highest in any seat. A nice story to bloody the noses of those that had attacked her

Phil, are those numbers based on Kensington going Labour or Tory?

They add up to 650. I think the "318" all the news is reporting for Tories includes the Speaker, so technically it should be 317+1 and then, if Kensington does go to Labour, 262 for them.

The Sun was a major contributor to the campaign. Remind me who owns that rag...

Nationalists held up well in NI with SF increasing their tally from 4 to 7 even though the SDLP fell away!
