Trump's state visit has been put on hold after he told Theresa May he wanted to waited until the British public supported the visit. That might take a while, particularly after his comments following the London Bridge attacks.

I'm going to guess that the Presidential visit will be delayed until about October, at which point we'll be treated to a visit from the American President, Mike Pence.

So basically 'sort yourselves out or the person you don't want to visit, won't visit'.

So what's the issue?

Handled by the British Prime Minister, Jeremy Corbyn.

This just means when he eventually comes, he'll pretend as though we have showed our support to him.

I love that he recognised 90% of us hate him though. heart.gif

You forget that he can only serve two terms. I'm not sure his popularity can recover that much in a mere seven-and-a-half years. That, of course, is assuming he even completes the first term, let alone win a second.

Until he assumes the title of Glorious Supreme Leader of North America and we all bow to his greatness and superiority. smile.gif

Actually he becomes Prime Minister if May can't pass her Queens Speech. If he can't pass his then we go to another election

I'd rather have May as PM than have yet another leadership contest/general election this year tbh. Brexit negotiations have to start very soon...

May turned a probably 100 seat majority into a minority government. What on earth about her weak and wobbly election campaign makes you think she's even remotely capable or competent enough to lead this negotiation?

And while she does this we destroy the Good Friday Agreement, the only thing keeping the IRA abiding by a ceasefire, and simultaneously make thousands of teachers and police and fire fighters redundant while further f***ing the NHS.

A second election is a far better option in every single way than May continuing with the DUP. The fact that her confidence and supply arrangement threatens the GFA and has lead to Sinn Féin sending its MPs to Westminster to lobby against it should be a warning siren loud enough to anyone with a functioning brain that this is a bad f***ing idea. SF at Westminster. That's historic. Even if they just come to lobby and not take their seat that is a very very historic move and underlines just how under threat the GFA is by Mays actions. Nationalists are already angry at the NI sec because they don't trust him to be impartial, having the DUP prop up government destroys the role of the UK gov as impartial negotiators in the NI power sharing balance.

You were born after the troubles ended so you have no idea of the sheer carnage that will be unleashed by this. I come from a military family that to this day won't step foot on the island of Ireland because of the troubles and their relentless targeting of the British armed forces (who along with the RUC and the DUPs terrorist arm were properly nasty c**ts to the Irish people so there was a fair bit of eye-for-an-eye going on)
