As the age of streaming is so prominent, do you still listen to the radio to get your new music fix or just to casually listen to throughout the day?

Are there any shows that you cannot miss or always strive to catch up on?

I listen to a mix of Radio 1 and Kiss. Radio 1 mainly for the music and chat but Kiss for their Kisstory elements.

What about you? Discuss!

At home, I just stream the music I want to listen to but in the car I do listen to the radio. I guess it's still a great way to discover new music and I like a lot of the DJs on R1 too and the discussions when they're not playing music. I flick between Radio 1 and Heart because then you get a nice mixture of new and old, plus aside from Radio 2, Classic FM and 3 Counties Radio, those are the only channels we can get in the car (and none of those are really my cup of tea although I do like some of the songs currently playlisted at Radio 2). I don't think Capital seems to cover our area as I can never get it in any car I've been in sad.gif

Nope, the last time I CHOSE to listen to the radio was probably about 2008 time when I actively followed the charts.

Never, if I ever have time to listen to music I prefer to make my own choices now.

Radio 1 if ever. On a journey of more than 10 minutes, I just listen to my own music.

Not really to be honest, when I had a major interest in the charts I used to listen to Radio 1 quite a lot. Now I have Capital Xtra as my alarm when I set a time for me to wake up on my alarm clock but that tends to be the only time that I listen to the radio.

Never. I hate the radio, much prefer my own music and the "banter" between the "hosts" makes me want to shoot myself

For short periods of time at a time. Radio 1 or Radio 6 usually.

My mum LOVES radio host banter, thankfully I'm never in the car with her driving anymore to have to worry about it, but there are few things worse.

Always listen to the radio. I often have it on in my room if I'm fed up listening to my own playlist. Normally Kiss but I also listen to Radio 1 and Heart at times.

I sometimes listen to it, it's a good way to find new music (or old!) but like Silas says, the hosts in between are so boring to hear and they aren't even funny unsure.gif

Voted BBC Radio 1 (most varied I think) as well as Kiss, AR and 1Xtra.

I can't remember the last time I did out of choice laugh.gif The only time I do is if it's like in someone else's car, a taxi, a shop or a waiting room or sth and obvioiusly then I don't have a choice so it doesn't count, everyone listens to it then.

Regularly I only listen to the radio for the chart show on Radio 1 every Friday. Otherwise I don't really have much of a need, I seek out new music on my own all the time and would rather play music that I'm guaranteed to like off my iTunes rather than sit through songs I may not enjoy on the radio. However, occasionally I feel the urge to put on either Radio 1 or Capital, just for an hour or so, so I voted for those two in the poll.
