So many quality songwriters out there make records we love but pay little if any credit to the person behind the lyrics. I know that sometimes songwriters become singers off the back of their own success, and sometimes they do really well and other times they flop badly after one single (example: Julia Michaels).

Have you ever written a song that you'd love your musical icon to sing someday?

Do you feel like you could legitimately write a song that could be a Top 40 hit in today's climate?

Have you ever written and recorded a song on your own either on YouTube or SoundCloud?

Discuss! tongue.gif

Anyone could laugh.gif today's lyrics are often so simple or recycled from lyrics several times before. I haven't really sat down and wrote lyrics but I've had them in my mind before, as have I production also, especially if I'm feeling emotionally high or low.

I wrote songs about cows when I was younger so there's clearly very high calibre stuff in my repertoire x

I've managed to get my head around the music notation system where you place beats on a keyboard roll etc, but all the sound settings and adjustments are an absolute pain - because I don't have a clue what any of the knobs mean laugh.gif

Also getting layers to blend in together and making melodies is impossible. Send help / expertees plz (@ TheSnake, do you use FL Studio? x)
