recently snapchat has chosen to update it's app so users can choose to display their location on an interaction map. this feature is highly controversial with many people worrying for their safety as the app shows exact street names etc, however other people have shown this feature can actually help in an emergency/if your phone is stolen. personally i have this feature turned on, i don't see the harm as i don't have anyone on my snapchat who i feel would use the information of my exact location to cause me any physical harm! plus everyone can see how much time i spend at waitrose x

Hmm I don't have anyone on my snapchat that I worry about seeing my location so I don't see the harm in having the update turned on.

Not for me. People would be able to tell exactly where I was when I've bailed on a social occasion laugh.gif

I have it off, mainly as I have loads of people on mine, who I really should delete.

Mine is on, for the time being. Will see how long I last before I turn it off.

The update I really want is for them to stop notifying people when you take a screenshot. Like f*** off and let me do some lowkey stalking in peace

I have twitter pals on there so yeah, I have it switched off.

It's so creepy. It even tracked when my irl was on a flight. It literally came up with her sitting in a cartoon plane.

I have that on but only for my parents. My mum is one of those worrier mums so with all that's happened in the UK this year and that i travel a lot for work and fun I turned mine on. Gives her peace of mind and saves me a headache

I have mine on atm bc like Lotti I'm okay with the people I have on it knowing where I am, does it not only update your location if you have Internet tho? I think it's a bit much including Street names when it's housing schemes and not like a busy public area, they should replace that with just a little home icon or whatever.

So I caved in and enabled this laugh.gif I only have IRL friends, Buzzjack friends and family members on there so I feel okay with everyone on there being able to see where I am (it only updates your location when you're actually on Snapchat anyway and I only open the app a few times a day). I do think it's a bit iffy if you have people on there that you barely know at all, for stalker reasons, especially if the user is under 18.

I literally only have people from BuzzJack on Snapchat. I don't mind if those people stalk me so I've turned it on for the lolz xx

(this is really a terrible idea though, and it's kinda terrifying how precise the location data that Snapchat can access is)

Same, I have this enabled and don't really care as I only have like my friends from uni, home and here so there aren't like stalkers who'd find my location, but the potential for this is a tad creepy to say the least laugh.gif It's cool as an idea but when you can zoom in and see where the streets are, what places are on said streets etc., and whether the person is sleeping that's when it gets a bit much :/

(I found out though it's not if you're sleeping I think it's if you leave the app idle at night or sth but still)
