what are the moments in pop culture that were supposed to be big but just weren't?

The one that stands out for me the most is Katy's video for 'Birthday'. They gave that a lot of hype and when it was promoted everyone thought it would be the next Last Friday Night or something but the result was kinda cringy in a BAD way (when I'm saying that you know it's bad lmao x), the song underperformed and the whole thing is pretty forgotten about. I love it anyway but everyone thinking Bon Appťtit was gonna feature Ariana then it actually being Migos!!

But, at least it fits the video perfectly now, looking back. The narrative of 2007 along with that video is iconic!

Nothing could disappoint me after the VMA performance. THAT is the underwhelming moment for me. Mostly because I'm sure it only fueled her self destruction.

The Spice Girls comeback tour was big, but the release of 'Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)' was rather floppy considering it was their first single in years!

Beautiful Cause You Love Me being Girls Aloud Final Single...should have defined who they were like On The Metro should have done. Let's be real, they were never well known for their ballads more loved for their upbeat songs
