I've spent all afternoon procrastinating and avoiding what I should be doing by sitting on the sofa with my iPod singing along to some tunes, naturally singing at the top of my voice while doing so kink.gif

So this led me to think - if you had to pick a song for karaoke, what would it be and why? Post below! biggrin.gif

Mine would be Andra Day - Rise Up.

Simply because it's a stunning song and although I can't sing for the life of me, it certainly has some brilliant notes kink.gif

Don't know of a signature song so much but I belted out a fantastic rendition of Unchained Melody the other week.

First song I ever performed in public when I was 11 but still remains a go to.

Other go to's would also be Sam Sparro 'Black & Gold', Janis Joplin 'Summertime', Justin Timberlake 'Cry Me A River' or Jazmine Sullivan 'Bust Your Windows'.

Not sure. I'm awful at remembering lyrics (even my highest faves) but if I had a screen or something to read them off of I'm still not sure where to start!

I'd only ever do karaoke while v drunk anyway blush.gif

On an idealistic note, Whitney Houston - One Moment In Time. It's one of those songs I can never listen to without trying to proper belt it out along with her, but of course I don't have anywhere near the range for it laugh.gif On a more realistic note maybe A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton, not too hard to sing but fun and a classic. But ngl give me a couple of glasses of wine and I'll PERFORM most things as anyone who's pre'd or been out with me will know :')

Lady Gaga - 'Yo And I' is the only song that I have performed in front of a public audience on karaoke, god knows where that confidence randomly came from that year laugh.gif So maybe that, although my favourite song to do on Singstar is Avril Lavigne - 'My Happy Ending' so that's also a contender.

Probably a very messy rendition of Rap God by Eminem as knowing all the words to that is kind of my party trick heehee.gif (also Hey Brother by Avicii is great for belting out at a karaoke)

Because I'd only have the confidence to do it as a duet and I have a bit of a limited range, I'd say you can't go too wrong with 'Islands In The Stream'

Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree on the grounds that:

1) I can sing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order
2) I recorded myself singing this when I was 15 or so just to see what I sounded like (and it was the least bad song to choose because it is very undemanding)
3) I imagine myself doing it with 2 male mates in long frocks early 70's style doing the girlie back up vocals and me in 70's crooner gear.

I've done karaoke a few times and I was always so horrendous :')

It's always been when I'm abroad and have had far too much drink. I've done 'Umbrella', 'SexyBack' (!) and the worst one which was Kanye's 'Power'...it was in a bar in New York where karaoke seemed to be taken really seriously. I was prettty drunk so was struggling to keep up or sing the right words and they stopped the track halfway through after everyone was booing me haha.

Lauryn Hill's 'Ex Factor' would be my choice if I was ever to do it seriously!

Any rap is good kink.gif

My party trick/drunk trick/when in the car with friends, is doing the feature raps on Problem, Side to Side and Swish Swish. (Anyone who has me on snapchat might have seen me do it from a night out laugh.gif)

There are few things in this world as satisfying as nailing a rap verse *.* Nicki's verses on Problem, Bang Bang and Monster are my go tos tbh and Read U Wrote U or C.L.A.T. from Drag race laugh.gif
