Is there any band or solo artist that you're a fan of, where they only released one or maybe two albums but for whatever reason they didn't quite make it, but you still listen to their stuff?

I've got a list the length of my arm, but these particularly stand out for me:

- V

They came out around the same time as McFly - and supported Busted on the same tour they did - but despite a couple of top 10s in 2004 (including 'Hip to Hip', still one of my summer jams and the best thing Xenomania did with a boyband) it just wasn't the right market for them to launch in. Shame as I felt they had real potential. I actually met Aaron (he's the one with the long blonde hair) briefly a few years back as he was Lawson's manager!

- Frankmusik

I had both his albums that he released - although I did prefer the first one 'Complete Me' more. That had several big singles in waiting on it, especially a song called 'Wonder Woman' which I'm convinced would have been huge.

- Alice Martineau

This one never quite made it, but for slightly more tragic reasons if you look up her story. My sister had a copy of her album 'Daydreams' and it had some really beautiful songs on it including one that was meant to be a single called 'The Right Time'.

Stacie Orrico really felt like she had it, but never really properly broke through despite having a few middling "hits" sad.gif

CASSIE.

Probably my most played artist of all time and she's only released one album, which came out 11 years ago :'(
There was a leaked trilogy of albums which were all incredible and she released a mixtape in 2013 which is one of my favourite projects ever. I genuinely think if it had had a push, a lot of it could've smashed.

Supposedly there's music coming soon which I'm praying is true because I need MORE.

Definitely agree with Frankmusik, he came and went without a trace really but 'Better Off As 2' was a really poor track to push him on even if he got 'Confusion Girl' after it.

* Mini Viva should've had more than one hit, One Touch in particular is pop gold <3.
* Icona Pop deserved more than one hit as that entire first album is superb
* Tinashe in terms of charts should be a household name by now.

I'm sure I'll think of some others but they're the first 3 that come to mind.

Neon Jungle comes to mind. I really enjoyed their album and loved how different and unique they were in the group. Had they released their album after the right amount of singles etc I'm sure they'd have gotten a second album or even a third accordingly.

Oh definitely Tinashe, people can moan she's overrated on here but she gets paid dust in real life, despite having imo the most star quality in a proper R&B star since Rihanna probably. So for her to only really have two features that were hits (and I guess 2 On that went Silver) is ridiculous, especially when she had such a pop money shot with Flame and it charted nowhere at all :/

well these artists are certainly BIG but in terms of number of chart hits; Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz, deadmau5, Porter Robinson, Oliver Heldens and TiŽsto should've had a lot more chart hits than they did.

and Flume not having any UK hits to date when 'Say It' and especially 'Never Be Like You' could have been massive, hopefully his next commercial release gets him a belated hit.
