I, in theory, pick up 100mbps at home on a fibre connection. Think it's more like mid 70's. Will check this arvo

Download speed of 17.8mps in Belfast, although I don't have Fibre Optic, and it still does everything I need it for.

Download: 4.33 Mb/s

Upload: 1.36 Mb/s

It's so annoying because there's fibre optic just down the road and they still haven't brought it here despite being in relatively new housing. That said 99% of the time I can watch videos in HD without any problem and download things at a reasonable speed (10x faster than I ever could 10 or even 5 years ago) so I'm not complaining too much.

At work:

Down: 16.1mbps
Up: 9.76mbps

I shall do it at home tonight, but I know it's definitely a hell of a lot slower. My ACTUAL download speed tops out at 0.35mbps at home and upload is about 0.05mbps.

http://www.speedtest.net/ pretty sure the difficult is of cqmerqn level biggrin.gif

the speed at my mates flat is (holy moly) 45mb! (usually it's like 6 or 5mb at home) but I'll test my home one (it is probably so bad as it is these days nocheer.gif) when i am not stingy i can test my EE speeds as apparently 4G is superfast but that might mean phone signal superfast

it doesn't really feel any faster here, perhaps its my computer speed ohmy.gif

Aye and ours is supposed to be 50 MB. It bottoms out at around 50% of this at around 9-10pm. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh cool, so you can for example open a Youtube video more or less instantly? ohmy.gif

And here is my speed at home: 7.17, which is RATHER GOOD compared to previous tests. 'Superfast Cornwall' uh, yeah, sure laugh.gif

I think my home one is Post Office, not sure what the flat one is.

Trying the different speed tester I managed to get 8 Mb/s download but only 0.55 Mb/s upload. Might be worth trying more than one of those testers but I guess it also could vary depending on time of day.

My provider advertises 1gbps speeds!! ohmy.gif

At peak time mine can slow down to less than 1mbps but I think that's coz Hyperoptic are being stingy with the bandwidth

8 MB/s here - it should be around 30 MB/s but I guess early evening is quite busy, plus I'm at the edge of town (with admittedly a lovely field/countryside view) so definitely am at the end of the exchange.

Never have any problems streaming TV though.

Hyperoptic on fine form this evening.

Few mins later when the internet chills out this is what is get typically. Sure the wired connection is a bit quicker. It's a claimed 100 up & down speed, but Never get near it on the upload.

Just outside Newcastle...

Without Fibre Optic it was about 1.5-2mbps and it was painful. Couldn't stream anything, constant buffer face.

But we finally got Fibre about three months ago and it's now 50mbps up and about 10mbps down. <3
