and a (slightly?) more serious thread to counteract my last, this was inspired by a convo i had with jakewild the other day. when you were a kid, what was your fav items to crop up in your lunch box? i was overjoyed whenever i had the spiced tomato wheat crunchies in there

Those Postman Pat edam cheese things. And I can't remember the name, but they were like a long flat biscuit with chocolate on top and like, tiny m&m's on top? laugh.gif
Anyone else remember them?

Chocolate Digestive biscuits were always the highlight whenever I had packed lunches.*.*

One of the three Primary schools I went to had the option of either packed lunches or hot meals and I always went for the latter, same in Secondary School and Sixth Form. But you had to have a packed lunch at the Primary School I spent the most time at so this fussy gal embraced them after a while (I didn't really like sandwiches as a child, so I felt quite awkward about putting together a packed lunch without them when the majority of kids had them. I swear everyone at my school was obsessed with chocolate spread sandwiches laugh.gif)

Didn't do hot meals at school until secondary and we just ate fast food because it predated Jamie Oliver' health drive.

But I always take a packed lunch now to work. I only do Christmas dinner and that day last June that I was so stressed, I FORGOT my lunch and had to have the last slice of pizza from the canteen.

^ Were biscuits not a common element of packed lunches? I forget. I used to have some kind of sandwich alternative like a wrap, crisps, a piece of fruit (usually apple) and some biscuits iirc.
