Problem with streaming is they lag getting the data to the OCC as it is, Thursday streams are estimated on the trend of the week as they are a day late reporting data. If it took more time to seperate Scotland streams it probably wont be viable.

I think yo umight be missing some... wasnt the official claims that Wannabe had been #1 in over 30 countries, and that Say You'll Be There and 2 Become 1 had collectively been #1 in over that amount too?
Or maybe those are just *slightly* inflated numbers anyway |

Yeah fair dues. I was partly joking by the way, because the 31 countries figure for Say You'll Be There and 2 Become 1 seems HIGHLY inflated lol Thanks for putting it all together by the way |

Slowly but surely making some changes to the first page! I've included fresh new banners for Emma and Melanie C. I've added in Melanie C's most recent singles.

Loving Melanie's new banner I've updated the list with more worldwide #1 places for Spice Girls. Your stats make this post on the first page seem even funnier lol: The Spices really weren't that big. They fall from likw 2 to 10 and then to 20 the next week :/ They were a hype band. Once the hype died, so did their sales ~~~~ The group singles and albums sections are fully updated! All the most recent sales, plus I've added sources for first week sales & certifications. I'll work my way through updating all the solo sections very soon! |

I'm curious as to why it's 'Mama' that has the stand-alone sales when it was the leading track of the release. Surely it makes sense for 'Who Do You Think You Are' to have the separate saes?

I've wondered the same! I'm quite glad it's Who Do You Think You Are that is counted to the Double A Side entry considering that it performs better than Mama on streaming, but it is curious.
I seem to remember reading many years ago, maybe around the time of Leona - Better in Time/Footprints in the Sand's release, that a label was obliged to let the OCC know which track was the "main" track, and that one would have its downloads (and eventually streaming) counted towards the entry. I find it hard to imagine that labels went back through every Double A Side in their history to inform OCC which one of the two though. Perhaps OCC used their own judgement for Spice Girls and went with WDYTYA for no particular reason? The download era really killed the concept of the Double A Side, it just didn't work and I'm kind of surprised Syco hadn't cottoned onto that by 2008. Leona having a separate entry for Footprints in the Sand looked so messy in her chart history! Shayne Ward had a similar problem with No U Hang Up/If That's OK With You. |

What I want is Mama to go silver in it's own right too now it has an individual total as well as the joint total.
I really think it is time all the spice girls discography got special edition releases. To not have any expanded or deluxe editions of any of the 4 albums and non of the singles bar Wannabe (to tie in with Virgin's 40th birthday it got a picture disc vinyl) having any release is a bit sad and mind boggling. Cassettes are in for collectors and all 4 albums could easily be released on limited edition cassettes. All the singles on 7 inch vinyls. Forever getting a vinyl release and deluxe versions of each album with a demo/b-sides and unreleased tracks extra disc. Even the GH could easily have an expanded 2 disc version with Step to me, My strongest suit, live versions from 98/2019 and a studio version of We are family. |

These are the images at the top of each section: Can you see the single/album artworks? |
