Who do you CURRENTLY (ie releasing music within the last year or two or so) think is a hugely underrated musician? This may be in terms of chart success or just general recognition!

Pink gets the chart success, but rarely the recognition.

Jack Garratt gets bigger all.

I genuinely think Charli XCX is really widely underrated (obvs the indie twitter stans are there for her, but so many people only know her for boom clap!) but I'm pleased she's getting way more recognition with Boys! She's just so incredibly talented (the mixtape getting next to nowhere is heartbreaking when it's sonically so solid) and she just comes across as so smart and savvy in interviews whilst just doing her own thing. I WANT HER TO HAVE EVERYTHING

I find that Bebe Rexha is releasing songs that are of a high quality but gets little to no recognition for it.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the topic, I don't consider many of the above examples underrated imo

CHVRCHES deffo comes to mind (although looking at the turnout of my recent singles rate they are far from underrated on here biggrin.gif ) maybe Echosmith as well. I can say Inna but moreso her success in the UK

Also Phoebe Ryan, LIGHTS and The Free who is not very well known but has a pretty unique style. I'd like them to get a sizable fanbase in the future biggrin.gif

I probably could name quite a few more but it's just a case of artists having lack of commercial success most of the time.

Mura Masa comes to mind, the fact that Love$ick never took off properly still annoys me

HUGE YES at Bebe, she has all the makings of a huge popstar but for some reason it just hasn't happened for her drama.gif Tori too although I think she could be on the brink of a big hit if she plays her cards right, her last era definitely built up a lot of momentum stateside.

Louisa Johnson hasn't done quite as well as I feel she should have going by the quality of her songs either - I know So Good was a hit but it deserved better imo, and Best Behaviour's chart performance upsets me sad.gif

Foster the People were also much better than they are given credit for and don't see many sales.

One hit wonders definitely make a musician underrated imo, especially when the artist usually has so much more depth to offer!

Torches was full of hits IMO but FTP still only have Pumped Up Kicks as their sole top 100 entry. Utter madness.
