At this stage in her career, she probably is the most successful female rapper of all-time in terms of chart hits and sales but do you think she is actually THE best female rapper of all-time? There is tough competition from the likes of Queen Latifah, Missy Elliot, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Azealia Banks, Iggy Azalea, Remy Ma & M.I.A. so where does she rank for you? |

My favourite female rapper at the minute is Kah Lo I love her accent!
Nicki is definitely one of the most unique with her different voices though! |

Nicki would definitely be top three if we take into account some of those names you've listed so far.
In terms of my own personal ranking, she is the best |

Talent wise, M.I.A. and Missy outstrip her for sure.

To the surprise of nobody, she's quite obviously my favourite female rapper. She just has so many bangers in a whole range of genres that suit pretty much any mood I'm in and I think she has buckets of talent so there really is no competition for me.
I do think the likes of Lil Kim & Miss Elliott are perhaps more respected in the industry though. Nicki probably does too many pop songs and throwaway features to create the sort of admiration and legacy those have which is a big shame |

it seems controversial to suggest Nicki is a better female rapper than Missy Elliott, but it's certainly true for me - maybe biased because of when I grew up but she has lots of good tunes and clever rhymes.

I do think the likes of Lil Kim & Miss Elliott are perhaps more respected in the industry though. Nicki probably does too many pop songs and throwaway features to create the sort of admiration and legacy those have which is a big shame Yeah I think she'll always be in Missy's shadow. She'll always be seen as the original rap queen and is generally way more respected. Nicki's released too many novelty songs now to be taken that seriously haha, that's what makes her so fun though – it suits her personality way more to be like that. I feel like Lil Kim was more respected but she's kind of killed that for herself a bit with all the Nicki beef :') For me, M.I.A. will always be my favourite, Nicki will have to settle for second place. If she releases an album as strong as 'Kala' then maybe I'll reconsider but for the time being, M.I.A.'s firmly my favourite. Having said that, she seems to deteriorate with every release (since 'Kala') whereas Nicki's going from strength to strength so... |
