Will Sam Smith remain at #1 for a third week, or will Post Malone take the #1 position next week, with 'rockstar', collaborating with 21 Savage, this track has literally came out of nowhere, and its taking the singles chart by storm by entering the singles chart already at #5. New releases are looking very scarce, Anne-Marie has a new single out, titled 'Heavy', and hopefully a new peak for 'Crybaby' by Paloma Faith and a viral track doing the rounds titled 'Man's Not Hot' by Big Shaq all vying for a top 40 position. Most likely the latter will wear off by the end of the weekend and drop like a brick.

In the albums, The Killers are looking at a #1 album with their brand new studio release 'Wonderful Wonderful'. Other new album releases all fighting for a position inside the top 10, will probably come from Enter Shikari 'The Spark', Macklemore 'GEMINI', Van Morrison 'Roll With The Punches', The Horrors 'V' and Mastodon 'Cold Dark Space'. Further new albums to chart from Marc Almond, The Fizz (aka Bucks Fizz), Sleeping With Sirens and Fergie.

Breakdown of the week

Hope The Killers make #1 Album this week (probably to be followed by The Foo Fighters at #2 and Ed at #3 for his last consecutive week in Top 3 ?) - should do with ease!

Foo Fighters won't be far behind I reckon, its a tough call they had some promo last night on Jools Holland, don't know how much of an effect that will have though.

Ed Sheeran has been struggling to reach 12k for the past few weeks, so I reckon he could drop out of the top 3, I wouldn't be surprised there will be 6 to 7 new albums in the top 10, there are some pretty strong new releases, even Marc Almond could just scrape in, since the old artists have been doing quite well lately (OMD, Gary Numan etc etc)

As much as I would like to see a Top 10 Album for Marc Almond it would be a bigger turnaround than Gary Numan, Marc's last Studio Album (admittedly a self-released project) failed to chart.

Marc is currently #9.

Obviously this will drop but a Top 30 placing should be achievable. Interestingly Marc Almond's highest solo Album placing was in 1985 (#22 with 'Stories Of Johnny') and that has been his only Top 30 Album as a Solo Artist.

Given the recent upward trend in chart positions for Eighties Artists can see Chris Rea challenging for a Top 5 spot next week.
