Ok Buzzjack explorers, listen up, I have a mission for you...

Are there any streets in your neighbourhood which are either named after somebody famous or have a similar or identical name to someone famous?

I will start this thread off with a street in Bristol which has the same name as a famous rapper who is incidentally named after a male duck.

What unusual street names can you find near you?

Please try and post an image of the street sign and state where you saw it! happy.gif

We have a road named after Helen Keller not far from where I live.

QUOTE
Helen Adams Keller (June 27, 1880 – June 1, 1968) was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deaf-blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree. The story of how Keller's teacher, Anne Sullivan, broke through the isolation imposed by a near complete lack of language, allowing the girl to blossom as she learned to communicate, has become widely known through the dramatic depictions of the play and film The Miracle Worker. Her birthplace in West Tuscumbia, Alabama, is now a museum[1]and sponsors an annual "Helen Keller Day". Her birthday on June 27 is commemorated as Helen Keller Day in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania and was authorized at the federal level by presidential proclamation by President Jimmy Carter in 1980, the 100th anniversary of her birth.

Not quite as A-list, but in Great Yarmouth I've heard tell that they named one of the streets on a new development c. 12 years ago as 'Justin Hawkins Road' after the lead singer of The Darkness...

Technically all male ducks are drakes, and female ducks are.. ducks.

I've been past Dame Judi Dench Walk loads when walking from the Youth Hostel into the city! Always seemed a little odd.

Really can't think of any where I live, they've all just got really generic street names laugh.gif Oh unless you count Queen Street and Victoria Road.

In addition to the above references to Drake, there was also Sir Francis Drake an Elizabethan sea captain and explorer who circumnavigated the world and was vice admiral during the Spanish Armada in 1588.

My city has numbered streets so you know whereabouts everything is (like a Grid) BUT there is one main road called Wayne Gretzky Drive, named after the hockey icon.
