You are going to a doctor, someone there for intelligence, not warmth.

I disagree.

would you like to go to a doctors surgery, and be treated like the lady above?

I sort of see your point about doctors being their to diagnose and not to be friendly, but shouldn't doctors also make an effert to make their patients feel they can be trusted?

Exactly, being treated well mentally can be just as rewarding as being treated well physically.

You can be as intelligent as you want, but to be a doctor you also need people skills.

Then improve schools with bullying so the intelligent can more easily develop empathy.

Otherwise, well, accept a doctor is there to treat you, not be your friend or brat around the bush.

not another Dr. Beard apologist.

nobody is asking for doctors to be all BFFs with you. they should at least have some respect, perspective and compassion. whatever profession you are, this will apply. she might've been obnoxious loud and threatening prior to what the video shows us but that would be clearly her own problem.

Schools do absolutely everything in their power to tackle bullying. Problem is bullies don't always want to change, parents refuse to admit their children are bullies and schools don't have as much power as you think.

But that's by the by. In all jobs you should have a level of professionalism. It is never acceptable to tell a patient to f*** off, I don't care how much you were bullied in school.
