It's that cliché question. In my head this is kind of in the same boat as like "what's your most treasured possession?" Let's say if you had 1-2 minutes to grab stuff, what would you take in order to save it from the flames? I've thought about this a lot. There are things that are expensive and practical such as my laptop and phone, but at the same time it's like, my laptop is six years old already. I'd definitely want some way to save my music though so I wouldn't have to start collecting it from scratch :') There's artwork by my sister that maybe I'd attempt to save for the sentimental value attached to it.

I'd definitely consider my laptop and phone as a priority, as well as a couple of old photo albums which are irreplaceable (I really should make time to scan them!). I'd weep for my Spice Girls collection; there's just too much of that to grab :') x

I honestly don't know, I feel like in that situation I'd just grab my phone, a charger and my purse, being practical yknow laugh.gif I don't have much with sentimental value or things that can't be replaced in my own flat, most of that stuff is at my parents tbh

Well I’d probably already have my phone in my pocket, unless it’s charging on my laptop, in both cases getting my laptop would mean I rescue both items magic.gif my safe kinda has several hundred monies in it tho but it’s the least valuable item of the three :’) (because I value my collection of music and some videos on my laptop to at least like 50k laugh.gif

I think I would have to grab my laptop, phone and bag which contains my purse and iPod. I also have about 40+ cuddly toys on my windowsill so I'd have to grab a few of those. It may sound a bit silly but they're rather sentimental. Maybe a folder that contains all my certificates as well. It goes without saying that I'd grab the cat but I'm just focusing on objects here laugh.gif

hahah I don't know why but this makes me laugh every time I see it laugh.gif I did think about rescuing my dog as well (I did mean objects moreso though, indeed) but I think there's just something about the way you worded it!

Phone, laptop, passport and a bag of clothes I'd just throw together.

I can't think of anything else really.

After I've made sure the cats are safe, I'd probably get hold of my external hard drive. I don't keep a lot on my laptop, but all of my photos, stuff that i've spent years working on etc is on my external hard drive. I'd also try to get my ring which my gran gave to me and my phone, but my phone would be last on the list really.

This actually happened in a sense to my family when I was a teenager. Our house wasn't on fire but a massive forest fire was approaching our neighbourhood so we were being evacuated. We had 15 minutes to gather what we could and we each had a bin to put whatever we could fit in it. I ended up putting photo albums and journals in mine and bawled my eyes out at the thought of losing my entire Spice Girls collection.

Luckily, our house didn't catch on fire, so we didn't lose anything afterall.

Last year an apartment next to us caught on fire and in that moment I grabbed my dog and in the 'heat' of the moment (see what I did there) I really didn't care about anything else.

Yes and couldn't for the life of me think why, as it's an interesting topic.

I think mods have said before that they have accidentally locked topics before, I think like, there's the Lock button right next to another much more innocent button or smt laugh.gif

Idk really. There's a folder in my room full of letters and things from my childhood that I'd probably grab but I haven't put anything in it for so long. Other than that I'd probably take my bag (complete with phone, keys and wallet) and anything else I could before I had to get out.

It is very easy to lock a topic by mistake. In general, if a topic is locked then the mod will say why. If you think a topic has been locked by mistake, please feel free to PM any of us.

I would probably just save my phone and my charger if I can and my dogs. My family too. I don't really have any childhood stuff I don't think.

Yeah, the folders (blue / red) to the left of the topic title lock the thread if you're a moderator and you click on one of them. I know I used to accidentally do it sometimes during my time as a Lounge mod kink.gif

Phone, laptop, wallet and card holders and my two favourite blankets when I was 2 (artfully named 'Teddy' and 'Other Teddy') I think they're the only stuffed childhood toys I couldn't bear to see burn.

Yeah sorry we think this was accidentally locked! It’s really easy to do when browsing on a mobile because as Mattias says clicking a folder can lock/unlock so that’s really easy to do!

As Simon says please do PM us if we’ve locked something that looks like it’s probably been done by accident
