Ew kids - I have come to realise that I am not maternal in the slightest right now. Nothing makes me rage more than kids screaming in public places. I couldn't take it when a screaming kid sat next to me at McDonalds and then in the waiting room prior to getting a jab, in the same day. sad.gif I feel like I'm not mentally ready to look after kids anyway atm, let me figure out how to take care of my wellbeing and livelihood first before I even consider kids. Will maybe re-evaluate in like 10 years~

Oh god yea same, I see a screaming child and I either think "same" or "shut up or I'll kick you", I'm not maternal in the least rn and don't want kids for like another ten years at least either. It's weird that I hate them rn but I feel like I'd be a great mum at the same time but like I'm 21 years old and will happily have a lunchable for my dinner so I'm not really mother material at the moment. I just want dogs.

Kids are the worst. Even when I was one I generally didn't like or get on with kids, there were a few exceptions of course.

Dogs>>>>>>>>Kids tbh.

Although I suppose one good thing about having kids is to continue the family line after you die.

kids are the future, and are generally fab, but can be pains at times.

Just take the piss out of em if they are sulking, brooding, and if they bully keep them in the house without connection to the internet or mobile for a month.

Noisy kids dont bother me in the slightest. In fact I had one behind me on my last planeflight. Then on the bus from the airport to barcelona he had a screaming fit cos he didn't get his own way. It was my 3 year-old great-nephew. I had a quiet chat with him at hotel dinner one night as he was about to scream off again after I'd taken his glass of water away from him (he was about to wash his hands in it again for the 3rd time despite being told not to while his parents were getting food). I said firmly but calmly "you can scream all you like, I'm not your mum and dad and I don't care if you make a noise, you're not getting the water."

He had no idea how to respond and just accepted reality. He wanted my company even more afterwards, even though you might think it would be the opposite, cos I'm a fab great-uncle laugh.gif

I much prefer being an uncle/great-uncle myself.

I have 9 nieces & nephews, and 8 great-nieces & great-nephews. smile.gif

I spend quite a bit of time with kids and they're amazing. I mean, where else can you have a ten minute conversation and not have to put any of the effort in yourself?

I was a twat as a kid. Hid my grandad's glasses and he was without them a week and blind as a bat. Even poked down the loo for them. He said "I know it's that Chris. He's a little devil" Of course my parents said it couldn't be me. They just appeared in his room one day. I was 7.

Kids are awful. But that’s probably because I lack the patience to deal with them. I can’t handle that much noise.

I think my mind might change after I stop being single af

I mean I deal with 16+ kids in my job, they’re not so bad, younger ones though...there’s not much I’d find more difficult than primary age children and below!
