Dexton's Top 20 (28/11/2017) (Week 29)

Rita's standing strong!

Becoming only the fourth artist in the history of the chart to hold on to the top position for three weeks, Rita Ora's Anywhere sticks at the top for a third consecutive week and is having no trouble fighting off the competition. Eminem's Walk On Water featuring Beyoncé climbed to #2 last week, giving Rita quite the fright, but has quickly dropped back to it's debut at #5 whilst Selena Gomez & Marshmello's Wolves make their way back up to #2. Wolves has now spent a total of 4 weeks at #2, out-performing Dua Lipa's New Rules which spent 4 weeks at #3. However, New Rules did manage one week at #1, so Wolves is unlucky there. A new entry to the chart comes in at #3 with Craig David's latest single, I Know You featuring Bastille. This is Craig David's first appearance on the chart after the dull and generic (albeit catchy) Heartline failed to chart, yet this is Bastille third chart entry after Glory (peaked at #15) and Basket Case (peaked at #10). Lauv's Easy Love climbs one place (5-4) in a relatively Lauv-quiet week, the first in two weeks to not have a new song of his enter.

Dancing around the Top 5 is Clean Bandit's I Miss You featuring Julia Michaels (9-6) , whilst Taylor Swift's ...Ready For It? follows closely by (10-8). MK's 17 falls back to #7 after re-peaking last week, 17 is currently climbing fast on the official UK chart both in sales and streams - will 17 be able to match it's official chart peak to my personal chart peak before it dies down (or gets hit by ACR, whichever comes first laugh.gif). Yo-yo-ing up and down the chart this week is Alan Walker's All Falls Down featuring Noah Cyrus & Digital Farm Animals as it climbs to a new peak of #12. I find it very hard to pick a favourite over Noah or Miley. They both have their ups and downs musically, and each have had their fair share of controversy (Robin Thicke, XXXTentacion), although I guess right now I prefer Miley as a person - yet prefer Noah's music tongue.gif

Despite only having three new entries this week, I adore each one of them right now. Portugal. The Man's Live In The Moment is growing on me like crazy almost as much as Feel It Still did. Feel It Still debuted on my chart at #17 before quickly jumping to #1 the week afterwards, will Live In The Moment follow suit and be next week's #1? It's definately a contender, but Anywhere is hard to beat right now wub.gif Speaking of Portugal. The Man - their album Woodstock has rose to #1 this week in the album chart featuring the Dexton Chart hit's Feel It Still and (now) Live In The Moment! laugh.gif Other songs I would recommend from here are Rich Friends and Number One, although basically anything on the album is 10/10.

Little Mix just released "The Platinum Edition" of their 2016 album Glory Days, featuring three new songs. Dear Lover and If I Get My Way are great, however Is Your Love Enough? is (presumably) being pushed as a single and is far superior in my opinion. It's the perfect little mix of Touch and Reggaeton Lento and will hopefully become an official chart hit like those two!

Note: Bored Dexton decided on Sunday to create his own "Now 98", similar to a few others. It's all fun and I even had a go at making my own cover for it - I haven't touched Photoshop in months but I think I did an ok job laugh.gif Two songs on there are yet-to-chart on my chart, and will probably chart next week - it can be found here smile.gif kink.gif

Thanks for reading!

Hello Dexton!
Great to have "Anywhere" still at #1 and I'm very happy to see "I Know You" debuting, could be a future hit on my charts in 2018.
And the other debuts are great too!
As for your album chart, suprised to see "Woodstock" at #1, even though I like this album.
Great charts overall!

Hi Dexton!

Nice to see new Alan Walker reach a new peak! I'm seeing a lot of the 'urggh why's he gone generic' on here but I think this is really catchy and a breath of fresh air from him!

I should really give that new Portugal. The Man a listen - I've heard a few clips and I'm not that taken but Feel It Still took a month or so to click so this could possibly the same?

Great chart biggrin.gif

Hey sergej!

Anywhere is brilliant wub.gif

I Know You is my favourite from Craig David in years I think, or at least his most instant with me. Much prefer this to Heartline!

Woodstock is basically on repeat in my car now laugh.gif Great album from a great band

Hi Pete!

I agree it's quite different to his other stuff, but I'm really enjoying this right now!

Live In The Moment didn't click with me quite as fast as Feel It Still did, hence it only just charting now and not when I first heard it with the album biggrin.gif It's a great follow-up single though. I'm still waiting for Feel It Still to re-peak in the UK chart sad.gif

Hi Mango!

I was expecting Craig David x Bastille to be terrible despite the good names actually! laugh.gif I'm glad I was wrong though, Craig David's big comeback over the past two years has been quite exciting at times. It seems like he's watched all the new up-and-coming artists from the 2010's and is reaching out to all sorts of people to collaborate with. I mean he's done songs with Katy B, Bastille, Major Lazer, Blonde, Chase & Status, R.City, etc. etc. That's some variety

How Long came and went pretty fast, it's funny that both Attention and How Long peaked at #9 in the UK chart though biggrin.gif

Is Your Love Enough? could still go Top 10 smile.gif I hope so anyway!

Bonjour Dawson! laugh.gif

Rita is looking to grab 4 weeks on top here soon wink.gif We'll see if she manages 6 weeks though :lol She could even be my xmas #1

I really hope Anywhere gets #1 tonight, if not then I'm afraid #2 will be her peak sad.gif She's incredibly close to overtaking Havana right now, but I feel Ed Sheeran will be #1 next week until the New Year so poor Rita sad.gif

Gutted she didn't make official number one tonight. Still hold out hope she might finally manage it next week with her catching up with Havana on streams and selling more on downloads. I'm over Havana now tbh
