I'm considering doing all my Christmas shopping online this year because it is absolutely diabolical in town in Manchester that I just can't cope.

Has anyone got any sites they recommend and which do you prefer, online or in store?

I am fully planning to predominantly carry out my Christmas shopping online because I also can't cope with how busy the shops will be. Most of the ideas I have bookmarked so far are just on Amazon!

I use the online version of any high street store. Same stuff, same prices, no people.

Also if you go through quidco you get cash back on your gifts!

Always online if I can, though I do live within walking distance of Westfield Stratford City which is ever so convenient (if busy) for small scale gifts.

I really enjoy both if i'm being honest. But online just edges it for me and this week proves why. I'd planned to go proper store Christmas shopping with my mate, but i've had a hectic week and can't face it all right now so i'm going to spend the weekend doing a lot of the shopping online instead from the comfort of my BED. Anything I don't get, i'll go in stores next week ~

In store shopping is fantastic when I break up from work, but during term time it's just a chore. I love shops around Christmas time though ~

I don’t think you can beat in-store shopping for Christmas! I love how busy it is tbh!

They both have their benefits and drawbacks. In-store shopping is more time-consuming in terms of waiting in line for the cashier and waiting for customer service and such, but you get your purchased product immediately. Online shopping doesn’t have that added pressure but in terms of shipping, you’re not guaranteed that your product may be in mint condition (it usually is but there are those ~external~ factors), and you’re waiting a select amount of days to get what you bought so it may not be available in time for Christmas.

If you’re in a rush and want to get something without the added stress of finding parking then go online, but it’s only the beginning of December. Y’all have the time.

Oh I love how online you get sometimes much lower prices, stock etc. so that, although the delivery can take bloody ages or even not arrive at all :/ so I guess, if I can get it irl I will but I’ll see if it’s cheaper etc. online first kink.gif

I actually avoid shopping online as much as possible, mainly because I'm a last-minute shopper so nothing would get delivered in time. laugh.gif I much prefer the in-store experience too, so I try to think of gifts that I can physically go somewhere to purchase. Plus supporting local businesses and all that, except I probably buy from chains as much as the next person.

I was going to do online shopping at notonthehighstreet.com with around £100 spent, but the delivery fee was £25! That's like throwing £25 away :'(

Now I understand why shops are so busy.

Online. I won’t go to the shops before Christmas because people are idiots.

Done all my Christmas shopping already except for Secret Santa at work.

I think I prefer shopping online just for convenience and there tends to be more choice and stuff but nothing beats the vibe of going into town when it’s packed full of frantic Christmas shoppers and stuff, it’s stressful but I kinda love it

same! Also just too warm in the shops and I can never travel with much stuff as I'm always flying back for Xmas, so getting it delivered is much easier

Xmas shopping is the only kind I prefer to do in-store - there's no panic about whether the stuff will turn up on time. wink.gif

Online for sure! I've pretty much finished my Christmas shopping already. I took advantage of Amazon Black Friday for a lot of it.

I do like the vibe of the shops at Christmas time though, it can help me feel more festive! So I may arrange to see a friend in town, but it'll be without the added stress of lots of gift buying to do. kink.gif
