So last night I went to see Gorillaz in Birmingham and the support act was Little Simz, who I was introduced to via Yehesi entry 'Devour'. This got me wondering - which BJSC artists have we seen live?
The others I have witnessed in a live setting are Francis And The Lights as a support act for The xx in Nottingham and Melanie Martinez in London last year! I discovered the latter through BJSC when 'Pity Party' was a veto and she was previously sent with 'Dollhouse' in the main contest (further Yehesi impact). I think Francis is the best support act I've ever seen live! After all, this live set did inspire me to send 'See Her Out (That's Just Life)' after loving the sound of it in the arena. I've also seen Nina Nesbitt live but this was only last year shortly after 'Chewing Gum' came out... at Gadget Show Live (and Daisy Dares You in my school library back in 2010, but this was about 5 years before I started entering BJSC ) |

I've seen quite a few, off the top of my head PVRIS, Tonight Alive, Paramore (if they count ), Halsey, KFlay, Coin, Tyne, Borns, Girli... I feel like there may be more, ofc quite a few of them I knew of before they appeared in bjsc

I know I've seen Foxes & MØ live but those were both after their BJSC entries and success.
Leon Else (representing Ojnoj & South Danaelanda) and Ariana & The Rose who represented Mulgracia & Singerpurear both supported Foxes. Anne-Marie before she got big and after her BJSC entry 'Karate'. Glass Animals I had seen live before I entered them into BJSC just a couple months ago. (Roosevelt was supporting that gig but only caught the last 5 mins and this was before Cumulonimbia's entry 'Elliot' this year. Years & Years and Bastille I've seen live multiple times but both were post-mainstream success and of course their BJSC entries. The awesome trio of MØ, Mabel and Nimmo supported Y&Y when I saw them live at Wembley SSE. Hot Chip after their Eledan/fyr pi/fyi i'm slutland 'Need You Now' entry. ODESZA which inspired my It's Only entry (but after Say My Name). Walk The Moon supported the YM@6/ATL tour back in 2015 after their BJSC success with Anna Sun but before Shut Up & Dance exploded. Also Lauren Aquilina I have seen live in assembly back when I was 10 |

Francis And The Lights of course, and a couple of the acts I saw at Reading Festival years ago have gone on to appear in the contest, Everything Everything (who I saw twice) and Tame Impala (I was nearly going to send them myself after seeing them but never got around to it) come to mind. Also Paramore, Florence + The Machine, Two Door Cinema Club and Muse have been entered in the past before the veto was really a thing. May be forgetting some, my memory of the Reading Festivals I went to is a little hazy

Well Iwould have seen melanie Martinez and Pvris (as wll as Coin and Tyla supporting the latter) had the former not cancelled and had I not been ill for the latter I've seen Marina who ofc was a cheapo pre-veto entry and winner, also someone called Rivrs supported Charli XCX when I saw her at her Number 1 Angel promo show hing but I am almost certain it can't have been the same one who sang Playing With fire from BJSC the other month Unless she sold out super fast and went from singing about being in love with a German pornstar to Spotify playlist filler.

I think all my live goers have been sent to BJSC
Against the Current, Sigala, PVRIS and I know a couple of support acts probably as well. Gryffin I think, possibly COIN too. |

It definitely is the same RIVRS! They were sent with another song a year earlier as well.

The ones that stick out to me the most are New Politics and Thomas Rhett, both of them before their entries and performing songs from previous eras.

Far more than I thought when I first saw this thread!
I've seen Matthew Koma live supporting Owl City (this was waay before I joined Buzzjack though) and I guess Owl City was a BJSC artist too with "Strawberry Avalanche" and a feature on "All About Us" by He Is We. As of last week I've also seen PVRIS of course as well as both Coin and Tyne supporting them. I've seen Bastille (Laura Palmer was an entry right?) and BJSC 78 winners Rationale supported them (before I joined BJSC so I didn't know them before but still). I've seen Years and Years supporting Clean Bandit (they were on a feature on Magician's "Sunlight" - of course that blew up I guess after the contest) and Clean Bandit themselves as they were in BJSC 52! Also seen Shell Perris who I believe was a Seyetana entry. Seen Against The Current too! I've seen The Hoosiers twice and weirdly enough it looks like they were entered into BJSC 6! From my own entries I've seen Imperial Leisure, Sœur and Meadowlark live. If we're including Nuggets I've seen Wildwood Kin and Beach Weather. So 15 in total, 17 if you include UP/ Nuggets. Honestly didn't think I'd seen too many artists live but I guess it really does add up if you include support slots and events. I don't think I sought any of them out as a result of BJSC but certainly from my list seeing them was an inspiration to enter them. Still, it was cool making the connection and the entries piqued my interest in several of them more, plus them being in the contest sometimes indirectly got me more interested in them. I think the contest has more of an influence on me than I realise sometimes- the first I heard of PVRIS was St. Patrick because of BJSC and it slowly grew from there. I've gone on and collected more music from several artist entries before if I really liked the entry song. |

^Add Marmozets & Lianne La Havas to that list too x
I'm mostly the same as the above paragraph (with exceptions here and there) but for artists I consider within the realms of BJSC still, there was a night I went to a while back with D'yermak'er act Mausi being supported by Skall act Dive In. With their entries (Move and Let Go respectively) seemingly being the signature song of the night. Also the first time I saw an entrant of mine to any song contest live was surprisingly but fittingly a Japanese one, the math rock band I entered to UP a while back, tricot, also stopped off near me at uni and I had a fantastic night seeing them play. |

For me it was Sugababes & MKS, Laura Critchley, Dragonette, Gabriella Cilmi, Little Nikki and that’s all I can think of from my entries.
Of others entries I’ve seen: Måns Zelmerlöw, Sanna Nielsen (a true f***ing life moment I’m still not quite over yet), Loreen and Caro Emerald (4 times already and I’ve just booked my ticket to see her for the 5th time on her 5th UK tour). |

The two major ones I've seen live are Walk The Moon and Florence + The Machine! I very nearly got to see my own artist Holychild open for Walk The Moon but didn't get there in time!
I've also seen Elle King but she didn't bother performing 'America's Sweetheart', which is fair enough as I'm not sure how it'd sound live |

Well looking through the list I've seen Grimes, MØ, S O H N, Everything Everything, Public Service Broadcasting, M83, Foals, Courtney Barnett, Jessie Ware, Phoria, Christine and the Queens, DMAs, John Grant, CHVRCHES, Daughter, Mura Masa, New Order and Friendly Fires.
I also saw Clean Bandit at Latitude in July 2013 in a really small tent with about 150 people watching. |

I also saw new order, and have recently meant to go and see (in southampton) Jessie ware, Clean bandit (but ran out of time) and Suedey is encouraging me to catch PSB asap (which I'm hoping to do). yay! |
