Belgium for being dysfunctional, a little quirky but, at the end of the day, average and a little boring.

It's a lovely country though.

Russia, because life is a never-ending series of misfortunes and problems. Or maybe Greece, because I'm broke. Decisions.

ICELAND somewhat unsurprisingly as my dream country. It is wonderfully tolerant and chill much like myself, plus a good one to pick in terms of avoiding being invaded and whatnot. Although I'm not nearly as nice to look at. Let's also brush aside the lack of McDonalds.

Germany. no obviously I'm Japan, it's amazing the similarities those two have, I love how Japanese people love Germany

Finland.

Cold, reserved, loves a good sauna.

Incidentally December 6 is the 100th Finnish Independence Day! 🇫🇮 I'm going to be celebrating by throwing some molotov cocktails at the Russian embassy. biggrin.gif

I would be a country that is happy being itself, but still wary of outside opinion.
A country that isn't an obvious choice for a party, but can hold their own with anybody.
Relishes quiet time and is fiercely proud of its independence.
Loves football (with varying degrees of success).
Perhaps overshadowed by larger and more popular neighbours/family members/friends.
Often caught up in drama, not always of it's own making, and it's own needs can be overlooked.
A country full of people who are tall, thin, pale and blonde.
Often misunderstood as confrontational by those who don't understand it.
Can be very direct with people, but quite sensitive too.
Often a surprise once you get to know it better.

Poland.

Yeah, best not to dwell too much on the precise reasons for that.

I'll go for a country that you would disregard when it is first mentioned, but the more you get to know it, you realise just how much it has to offer. So Botswana then.

Ooh there are so many cool articles I've read on this topic, especially the 'your Myers Briggs type as a country' *. (back me up here Mattias)

I'd say I'd probably be a Scandinavian country like Iceland or Denmark - keeping out of conflict and some quite arty tastes, that you maybe need to get to know better to fully appreciate.

I dispute that, from all I've read on the subject it's more that Germany represents to them an old fantastical civilisation and German is used just as often as Latin in their culture to imply something that's grand and old - rather than a brief partnership that both countries want to forget.

IKR, all that Voltaire's nightmare of a mess with the HRE and then the intense militarism of Prussia, such boldness. And then they produced the founder of modern politics (and possibly a distant relative of mine) the legend that is Bismarck. Comparing myself to them because of their history is almost just getting greedy and taking all the best history for myself.

You feel like an Austria to me m8. Chilled, humorous, good taste, biggest mess in the HRE etc.

Through the female line, possibly. My mother's mother's mother was a 'von Wagenheim', so part of the nobility, and I believe HER mother was a 'von Einsiedel', and at least one von Einsiedel, Heinrich (who shares at least a few facial features with my uncle) was a great-grandson of Bismarck. Might be through marriage, my grandmother doesn't like talking about it as 'she doesn't like politicians' and I'll stress, we don't have any proof, but it's close enough that I can drop it as a 'might be true' anecdote.
