Portugal. The Man's Feel It Still snuck a week in at #39 so that'd be my favourite as it's my favourite track of the year wub.gif For something more well-known though I'd go for New Rules or On My Mind dance.gif

'On Hold' by The xx if re-entries count, but my favourite song that was new to the top 40 this year is probably 'Slide' by Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean & Migos. wub.gif

I'm gonna be annoying and not reveal my favourite top 40 hit of the year as it'll spoil the outcome of my EOY countdown, but a selection of my fave top 40 hits this year:

Anne-Marie - Ciao Adios
Avicii feat. Rita Ora - Lonely Together
Camila Cabello feat. Young Thug - Havana
Cheat Codes feat. Demi Lovato - No Promises
Harry Styles - Sign of the Times
Justin Bieber & BloodPop® - Friends
Katy Perry feat. Nicki Minaj - Swish Swish
Kesha - Praying
Little Mix - Touch
Louis Tomlinson feat. Bebe Rexha & Digital Farm Animals - Back to You
Martin Garrix & Dua Lipa - Scared to Be Lonely
Martin Garrix & Troye Sivan - There For You
Rita Ora - Anywhere
Robin Schulz, David Guetta & Cheat Codes - Shed a Light

And loads more! A really good year for top 40 hits biggrin.gif

Not sure which one of two is my fave UK top 40 track of the year but one of these two.

Paramore - Hard Times (wonderful 80s style new wave track)
Duke Dumont and Gorgon City - Real Life ft NAATIONS (excellent mix of both deep and funky house)

I also liked these seven.

Camila Cabello - Crying In The Club (that wonderful moody vocal and video and sampling of 'Genie In A Bottle')
Katy Perry ft Nicki Minaj - Swish Swish (wasn't expecting these two to go house influenced but this worked well)
Jax Jones ft Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don - Instruction (nice tribal house production and good vocal)
Dua Lipa - New Rules (I particularly like the drop in this one)
Big Shaq - Man's Not Hot (great production and lyrics)
Calvin Harris ft Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Big Sean - Feels (great nu-funk tune, I especially like the chorus)
J Balvin, Willy William - Mi Gente (the best of the Latin hits this year, excellent drop too)

And not a big lot else that made the top 40 this year I liked really.

damit Lana-Love peaking at @41, totally thought she had been low top 40

then I'd go for Lorde - Green Light

The Shins appearing here - great choice. Mine again would be On Hold by The XX!
