Probably a bit early for this but oh well, I'm EXCITED

What are your plans to bring in the new year?

I've always been more of a hogmanay girl than a Christmas one because I always get into that "this is gonna be my year" mindset and the bells seem to bring out the optimist in me thats hidden v deep during the other 364 days of the year x

Usually I do nothing on New Year's Eve except sit in with my parents and a few drinks and watch whatever shite is on TV (never forget the year i was going through my Take That phase and made my mum sit and watch their live concert thing with me until 3am *.*). New Year's Day is always spent with my dad's family since we see my mum's on Christmas day, its basically Christmas part 2 as we have a huge meal then too laugh.gif

This year however, myself and Lew are going out to what is apparently a black tie ball, i can already tell that's going to be a mess but I am so READY :'))) I hope my ability to avoid bad hangovers sees me through dinner with my family the next day tho as that is going to be awful if I'm half dead kink.gif

Most of my friends have bailed on our plans because of boyfriends so i have nothing now and will probably sit in and watch whatever awful thing is on TV laugh.gif Idk if the last few of us can just do sth but everyone is like "no point now" drama.gif

Hate New Years just feels like an annoyance after the excitement of Xmas and just know the boring routine will return soon enough with a long winter ahead! Don't have any plans!!

I still donít know what Iím going to do. My sister and I have been invited to a party and of course sheís going but Iím more reluctant. I went 2 years ago and drove but had to leave my car several streets away from the house because of parking issues and I wasnít comfortable doing that. Last year my sister went but Iíd picked up a new car on New Years Eve so I chose to stay at home. Donít want to drive this year and also donít want to fork out for a taxi.

Not huge on New Years anyway tbh. The first I remember was the Ďmillenniumí and I had some good ones as a teenager but I think Iím too old/canít be arsed anymore. The last three parties I went to (2013-5) I drove and so was sober and you just want to leave at midnight when itís like that. Iím really tempted to stay in and chill watching a film or something. Is that sad?

Come back 2017 cry.gif

I'll be going to church as usual, we've got the usual church party stuff happening before the watchnight service at 11:30 (where I'll probably be roped into reading something because I have a 'strong voice' ). And then I'll go to bed.

I will be back in Manchester doing absolutely nothing. No idea if Iíll even stay up for the bells.

I donít usually watch whatís on the TV because I canít stand Jackie Bird who is apparently the only TV presenter in Scotland.

I'm being ditched by my family this year as my parents are staying in a hotel and my brother is going to the London fireworks on a double date! But it's okay as Bray will be with me so we shall just have a chilled evening in. I think I've only ever been to a NYE party once in recent times, to see in 2014, so I get you T Boy - I prefer staying in. I have mixed feelings about 2018, as on one hand I'm really excited for my 21st birthday and graduating from Uni... but at the same time graduating is petrifying, so I guess I'll just take the year as it comes.

Probably go out with a few mates - not clubbing in the centre of Bristol but more likely go round the local pubs.

Looking forward to this year - it is World Cup year after all!

The fact it's been 8 years since the 2010 World Cup scares me.

Same! I remember collecting the stickers for the 2006 World Cup and getting hyped for that tournament and that was over half my lifetime ago. ohmy.gif

Just staying at home watching the TV likely. Really can't be bothered with New Years in general, too expensive and too crowded everywhere. Plus I go back to work on the 2nd so it really signifies a return to reality for me sad.gif

I'd rather stay in and get drunk for it tbh unless I was at uni in which case we can walk to the clubs in town, at home it's like a £40 taxi (and the rest probably given its NYE) on top on God knows how much entry, and drinks and stuff drama.gif I'm hoping my remaining friends who haven't bailed on our plans still want to just do that.
