Are you meticulously good at keeping your place tidy?

Do you make sure to put clothes away after a night out or do they end up screwed up in a corner of the room?

Do empty cans, bottles and food wrappers consume much of the space available in your home?

How many times a week do you dedicate to tidying up and vacuuming around your living space?

Discuss! tongue.gif

Yeah Iím not great. Itís one of the ways in which depression manifests. I swing between being tidy and being rather untidy depending on what the DPN is up to at that moment

The fact a maid spent about five hours in my room alone probably tells you all you need to know...

(I don't NEED everything filed away nicely in cupboards and on shelves though, it's my own private space so I thought it was rather OTT)

My living space also manifests extremes or tidiness and messiness. I think to myself after finishing tidying up that Iíll maintain this organisation but within days Iíve allowed things to pile up again.

Never really linked it to depression before though. ohmy.gif

This is literally me, except I've not had one of those days where I suddenly feel motivated enough to sort everything out for well over a year or two so I've just accepted that messiness is just me now. I'm a creative person so generally I prefer to kinda work with everything sprackled around me, I like to see what I'm working with. I'm only like that in my own space though, otherwise I'm pretty tidy and organised. I hate having loads of things in my space at uni despite that being my preference at home. I'm really bad when it comes to putting clothes away though, like right now one of my sofas in my living room is just piled with clothes. I don't see the point in like folding stuff when I'm gonna probably iron it anyway and you can see what you want just fine by digging through the pile kink.gif I just have a general problem with clutter tbh, like theres a shelf thing under my coffee tablet thats just piled with books and pads and folders and whatever else i've needed for uni recently.

I'm pretty messy, not a complete tip but like I probably only actually clean my room about once every few months, I'm just such a procrastinator. It's gotten so much worse from me revising the other week too and now there's just folders and textbooks all over the floor and I cba to tidy them. I'm also terrible at hanging up clothes, I have about 3 piles of clothes on the floor that have accumulated over weeks.

I never really make a mess so I'm kind of tidy by default. But the things I've kept in my bag for over a year say otherwise.

I love having a tidy room and that might possibly stem from both of my parents being house proud. However, it can often be easier said than done to maintain one. I am terrible for randomly leaving things around my room, having the mentality that I'll "sort it out later" and then it always resulting in an accumulation of mess. There is no way that I would ever let my room get out of control to the point where I barely had any space to walk though, because I am clumsy enough as it is and don't need plentiful trip hazards. I give my room a proper tidy every couple of months and it always feels so satisfying to see it spotless. I wish I was better at maintaining it! So... I voted for "average".

I am extremely tidy, everything has to be in its place. Clothes are in the hamper or put away. And the cupboard doors have to be closed..

It's an organized mess! I know exactly where everything is!!1

Actually I've gotten a lot better at this in the past year or two. My current bedroom is about half the size of my old bedroom which has forced me to keep things from accumulating. I still tend to leave clothes on the floor overnight just in case I decide to wear them again the next day. laugh.gif

My current method is to just clean one thing at a time and make it an ongoing thing rather than this huge task that I'd keep procrastinating on.

Do people still do spring cleans where you take stock of what you have and chuck out anything that you donít use or need anymore?

I think this year I might get a bit ruthless and rid myself of a lot of the junk I still hold onto, I donít want the reputation of being a hoarder.
