What are your favourite smells? A colleague of mine recently told me she no longer has a sense of smell. What smells would you miss if this happened to you?

My fave is old book smell. Itís pretty weird but I love second hand book shops and smelling the pages of old books. Canít get that with a kindle. I also enjoy new book smell but itís not a patch on old book smell.

I am with you on book smells but I actually prefer new book - particularly textbooks or similar!

I also love burnt matches and the smell of a candle that has been blown out.

It might sound bad but the best smells are clearly the likes of petrol, nail varnish remover, glue, paint to be honest. I avoid smelling them for obvious reasons but they smell SO GOOD?!?!? laugh.gif

Fresh bread smells lush too. Nothing better than walking to a bakery and that smell hitting you.

Yes Petrol smells amazing. The only good thing about filling the car is the smell. Diesel isn't as good.

yeah that's not weird... ya need to up ya weird threshold tongue.gif

I sometimes enjoy the smells of some basements (yes that's a thing and I know I'm not the only one) and freshly washed hair when it has dried. I sometimes flick my hair back and forth to get the nice smell haha. Actually it's not limited to recently washed hair but it's nicer when it has been. There's probably so many more, it's challenging me to think about it right now.

Freshly cut grass is one of my triggers, reminds me of the first warm days of March and April and makes me feel better about life. Summer rain is also an evocative one too.
