Is it ever justified?

Even in this country there is a long history of the army being sent in to respond to similar situations, and it very rarely ends well.

The police have many faults as well, but barring an all out fascist insurgency all efforts should be made to keep the army off the streets.

The army should never be used against the people - the Tories of course LOOOVE this type of policing, but it is gross.

In principle, I agree - but in practice, how else do you suggest situations like the one in Sweden be handled, if the police are completely out of their depth?
