My favourite type of Midge would have to be Midge Ure, behind early electronic groups Visage and Ultravox and an excellent 1985 classic on his own with 'If I Was'

Any other midge types I have forgotten?

It's not awkward to prefer Midge Ure I don't think. He was an influential musician in the early 80s, some of the stuff he has been involved in such as Visage - The Damned Don't Cry sounds almost a bit like dream trance.

I haven't encountered the midge insects much I don't think but they are supposed to be annoying.

Now, if anyone states a preference to an INSECT rather than our Midge, then it would be low key insulting.

You have forgotten Midge from the childrens' TV programme 'Mary,Mungo and Midge'. Even if he was included,Midge Ure is my favourite Midge.

Plumped for our Midge who faced stiff competition from Marge's fabulous hair, but just about pipped it to the post.

I'm quite happy to lose to Marge, aka my love and inspiration.

Incidentally "Vienna" is one of my classic karaoke songs and I f***ing hate insects.

Vienna? No, Love's Great Adventure is better imo, epic, reminds me a little bit of Dario G's version of Dream To Me in parts, although not quite as dancey obviously!

"Vienna" is a bonafide classic and nothing else they've done (that I've heard) has come close. "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes" a distant 2nd.

Yeah I still really like Vienna, its a lovely ballad, but I think I just prefer their faster songs. 'The Voice' is a good one from them.
