Inspired by the bad artist names thread, I thought it would be a good one to discuss fandom names which are just as bad.

I'll start off with the following: Harmonizers, Mixers, Daydreamers, Vamps Army, Team Sats and the Diamonds all come to mind.

Discuss/share.

The Duranies, the first name for a fan group, as far as I am aware. Although maybe Suedehead/Popchartfreak/King Rollo will know of a fan group name before that?

Was listening to a Radio 1 show from 1984 I think that was posted on a retro lounge thread along with other old radio shows and they mentioned The Duranies in the broadcast before playing Duran Duran laugh.gif

This. It's a trend that's been irritating from the start and they only seem to get worse as time goes on.

I make an exception for Bars And Melody's Bambinos ofc, being a proud Bambino myself. (BEANZ is also so shit that I almost like it)

Their not as bad when they’re not forced out of the name of the artist. Like, I don’t mind Pink having her freaks, Gaga having her monsters of Anastacia having her Fanily.

Some of the worst ones are definitely from the artist - Beyhive, Swifties and Vamps Army testify brilliant for that.

On the subject of my previous post here I just remembered about the 'Deadheads', a term for The Grateful Dead fans that was used first in the early 70s apparently. I do like that fandom name though! I wonder if it was the first fandom name to be used? I don't think the Beatles fans had one.....

Most of them don't bother me and I'm surprised at some of the suggestions here so far - Beyhive in particular is quite imaginative I think! Others are.... fairly typical examples.

I'm quite unsure on "BEANZ", it looks awful but it kinda makes sense if you consider it's their initials kink.gif

For my own suggestion, Katycats has always felt quite forced and silly.

Yeah I agree, when they actually sort of mean something and are thought about it's fine, but I don't see the need for people to take their name and add "izers" or whatever laugh.gif

This.

GaGa started it and then just EVERYONE had to have a name for theirs.

Ridiculous.
