The problem is, often this day can be often 'taken' over to show true Feminism so it is hard to engage in that as a male and often why men can be put off by the idea. But that in itself shows how much of a problem we still have.. little things can make such a big difference to everything.

The day is about celebrating equality and while we have come a long way in a 100 years for example, half the world is still way behind and we still have 20-30 years to go before women and men are truly equal in the workforce.

Happy International Women's Day! cheer.gif I bladdy love being a woman. Equality ftw. Social media trends can be annoying at times, but it's been nice to see my friends sharing the inspirational women in their lives today on Facebook.

Every day should be women's day
Like with Valentine's Day, you shouldn't only show your love on one day of the year
Etc etc

But in the current climate I agree we need it but we shouldn't have to

in Russia this day has been completely ruined and it turned into people wishing women that surround them "continue being desirable and pretty" and other vomit-inducing things that involve appearance, children, finding a man, you get it. It's absolutely ridiculous and I cannot deal with it AT ALL. Most women themselves don't want to change anything about their 'object' status which is the most saddening thing.

of course a lot of things changed over the years but there's still a long way to go. the majority of population (women very much playing an active part in this) thinking woman's place is in the kіtchen and taking care of children 24/7 is NOT a healthy thing. so many women ruin their lives getting married soon and having children just because the society tells them to do it. it's so goddamn sad.

I wonder if the timing of this article is coincidental... teresa.gif

Women drivers really ARE more dangerous than men! New figures show middle-aged mothers are a 'liability' behind the wheel

Diamond found nearly half a million road accidents a year are caused by women drivers applying make-up behind the wheel

The article is not trash, it has statistics (and cruddy writing). If anything it shows how despite being equal, men are still seen as having careers and women as raising a family. This is part of the problem in our society. I'm sure if it was the opposite way round, men would show similar figures too. It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman, life is hard when you're trying to balance 2-3 things at once!

But the article basically says women are bad drivers, which is not the case. Statistically yes it is showing a certain demographic could be percieved as using careless driving, but we don't all say all men or young men are bad drivers because of the 'boy racer' stereotype.
