Who is your favourite rent-a-rapper?

Flavour of the moment still seems to be Quavo.

I love the iconic intro of "Higher" by The Saturdays featuring Flo Rida, another of rent-a-rapper royalty.

I miss when Flo Rida and Pitbull were the rent-a-rapper kings. French Montana, Quavo and Ty Dolla $ign could never be as iconic.

I don't think that intro to Higher can ever be topped so I'll say Flo Rida.

It's as if he quickly checked a biography about the Sats, who he'd never heard of, spouted their names and the band name in a completely irrelevant way to the song and job done, fee paid and a top 10 smash is the result! One of the strangest song intros of the decade for sure and redefines the meaning of 'phoned in'. And then there's 'Alexander girlgate' on Alexandra Burke's Bad Boys...

I like it best when they have a music video where the rent-a-rapper is obviously not in the same location as the original songs artist, i know scheduling etc. can mean this is a legitimate thing they have to do... but it makes it look a lot worse if they aren't even in the same room (and they try to make it look like they are) rotf.gif

Pitbull would be my fav if he was at all still relevant x Now i'm on the Quavo hype train... Although Sean Paul did a good job of shoving himself on everything in 2016

Quavo features needs to die, he's low key homophobic and really isn't that great of a rapper.

Kendrick Lamar has been another serial rent-a-rapper recently - not sure his parts on "The Greatest" or "Don't Wanna Know" were particularly that relevant... or even "Bad Blood" laugh.gif

Or how about Machine Gun Kelly? No thanks!

MGK's rent-a-rapper stint was very brief laugh.gif Kendrick can be counted a bit but he's been very successful on his own anyway (and Bad Blood needed Kendrick to be any good tbh)

Kendrick being brought up in this discussion hurts my soul. He's way above needing to do these shitty pop features. (I did like 'Bad Blood' a lot though x)

I'm liking Stefflon Don's features - she's really good on Instruction, Push Back and Alone.

Lil Wayne, BoB and Big Sean in the early 10s smile.gif

There were quite a few others in the 10s who had one hit wonders on other songs such as Jump Smokers and Foreign Beggars!

'Rent-a-rapper' is kind of an inherently negative phrase tongue.gif

I agree with Stefflon Don, she's one of the few ones that genuinely makes a song better (most of the time). Cardi B on Finesse was amazing too ofc
