I realized I don't have a definite favourite bird and this realization disappoints me. I also realized that my knowledge of the bird world is extremely limited for someone who loves nature as much as I do. Finally, I realized that bird discussion is itself fairly limited on here. What is your favourite bird? Inspire me bj.

also send Vocaroo recordings of your best bird imitation xox

My favourite bird will likely always be the cockatiel from having grown up with a pet cockatiel who was full of character and we all loved dearly.

But there are plenty of awesome birds. Here is a wild parrot that landed on our balcony in the Karri Valley when we stayed there:

I prefer flightless birds tbh (it freaks me out when birds fly over my head or land on me, pigeons are terrifying), penguins are adorable and ostriches/emus are incredibly interesting to watch. The drumming noise produced by an emu is haunting wub.gif

Although if we’re talking actual, flying high in the sky birds, I do love a pelican laugh.gif

Pheasants, we see a few in the garden here.

Whilst we are talking about birds, I would love to see a bittern and a stone curlew. Both rather hard to spot and native to Norfolk. Both of these are on my motivation list.

(I totally didn't need Mattias PMing me to notice this xx)

It will probably always be parrots and parakeets, I was always a fan of them when I was younger cos of the colours and I used to so want to own one when I was younger, but I settled for a budgerigar instead (which I loved ofc. tongue.gif)

I'm partial to Hoatzins as well, wonderfully bizarre *.
