Hello everyone hi.gif Apologies for the slight delay this month. It took a little while to gain a general consensus as there was so much to choose from in April. We decided that we wanted to extend the usual format to reflect a month that was more active than usual. So we have chosen 3 posters instead of 1 and 5 threads instead of 3! So without further ado, we would like to recognise the following in The Lounge for the month of April:
  • Best posters for April 2018:
01) Jay ☆

The first poster that we would like to recognise this month is Jay! Behind the scenes we were all enthusiastic for his inclusion here. Jay has taken on the mammoth task of the 'Buzzjack's Hottest Celebrities' event for the past few years. It is clear to see how much work he puts into running this event. Just take a peek at the males thread during the voting stage for example... Jay provided information galore and links for all the nominees. We appreciated the fact that he went above and beyond for this event, with all of the extra details, and thought that his hard work on this project really deserved a mention. The results for the males are currently underway but you can still vote for your favourite females if this event interests you. Congrats Jay!

02) Addy

Next we would like to recognise Addy's contributions to The Lounge in April 2018. He has been a very enthusiastic member of the community this month, just look at him topping the Posters' Chart one week with the second highest total of the year (the highest is still Snake x) without a touch of spam. Out of all of these contributions, the main thing that caught our eye was a series he brought to the Lounge called 'What The Fork?'. This pitted two different dishes against each other and resulted in some fun food debate. From pizza vs. lasagne to cheesecake vs. chocolate cake. We thought this was a great light-hearted idea for The Lounge, so well done Addy. Now all that is left to say is... bring on round 5!

03) Tombo

We would also like to give Tombo a best poster nod this time. He has really come out of his shell in The Lounge in recent months and has been a valuable contributor during April. We felt that he brought a lot of interesting points of discussion to The Lounge throughout the month, after scanning all of those that had been contributed. From the 'What Word Can White People Use When Rapping Along To Songs?' debate (which amassed quite a lot of discussion) to the 'Is Lip Syncing A Worthwhile Skill?' one and finally 'Anyone Else Cringe When Asking For References' to round off the trio. Congrats Tombo, keep up the good work.
  • Best threads for April 2018:
01) What do/did you want to achieve before you were 30? by Maz!

Our first pick of five is this thread courtesy of Maurice! He explained that turning 30 was a hot topic at the moment in his group of family and friends. He then asked us to talk about what we want to achieve before we are 30, or what we hoped to achieve if we're already past that age. We felt that this was a very inclusive and thought-provoking topic that really invited longer answers than your average post. It was interesting to learn about the goals that Lounge posters have for this age, plus the events that our posters looked back on, if they had already turned 30. A great 'get to know' type thread. Keep up the good work Maurice! (it appears that the Spice Girls mods killed it last month in here, nice one)

02) What's the worst thing a neighbour's done to you + yours? by Jüpiter

Next up was a topic from Jupiter that invited all kinds of anecdotes. He wanted to know if any of us had particularly bad neighbours, inspired by discussion in Bré's 'Powercuts~' thread. On the flip-side, he also asked us if we had ever done anything bad to our neighbours, after feeling that he had been both a victim of 'evil' neighbours and an 'evil' neighbour himself. I'm sure the neighbours of Emma Chawner's family could relate to some of the tales in this thread. There was everything from flooding a bathroom with toilet water four times to the blasting of 'seriously dodgy hair metal' every Sunday. It was a fascinating thread, with both humorous and shocking moments in places. Good stuff.

03) If you could change ONE thing about BuzzJack by awardinary

Next up is a topic that helped us look to the potential future of this very site. A bit of reflection never hurts and Wardy asked us to think about what we felt was missing from the era of BuzzJack that we are currently in. The 'new site' has been promised for a while so we felt that it was a good idea to have a public discussion about this, for any feedback before it actually lands in the future. Interesting ideas from PM threads to... cqmerqn joining BJSC (kink.gif) were highlighted. This thread gets brownie points also for one of the suggestions actually being implemented! Dexton and Jay both asked for more PM space and voila, Iz made it happen! If you hadn't already noticed, members now get an inbox of 200 messages and mods get 1000. Hooray!

04) Kids by Andrew.

We found this to be another really inclusive topic this month. Andrew began the discussion by expressing a desire to adopt children one day. Then the responses soon followed as it's hard not to have an opinion on kids. Some of us were broody and some of us were the complete opposite. It was really interesting to read the reasons for people wanting or not wanting kids in the future. It's a big decision and a personal subject so this thread acted as another 'get to know'-type exercise. Keep up the contributions, Andrew!

05) Name something the above poster has done for you by Q.

Now it's time to end on a positive note! Courtesy of a poster who has contributed a range of threads this month. This thread stood out the most for us out of all of his contributions, however. In his own words, Mattias asked us to: "...share if there's anything at all that poster has done for you, given you, taught you or even a song or artist they have recommended" in relation to the poster above us. We thought this was a lovely idea and helped to strengthen the sense of community around here, with all of the great memories and actions that were brought up.

Congrats to all of our April winners!

This was such a nice read, was interesting the way you guys expanded the format as I did find that the discussion last month was more satisfying than average, haha. And there was a lot of it too!

Pleasantly surprised at my thread's inclusion there, thank you! heart.gif

I wouldn't have wanted to appear patronising in a celebratory thread of this ilk and I'm not sure if incorporating such a hard time for him would have been appropriate. But I get your good intentions Michael and Common Sense, I think it goes without saying that everyone admires how you're dealing with this and we're all here for you if you need us.

Yay *.* It's nice to be recognized. I tend to stick to the AF's these days but the Lounge is in a good place at the moment.
