Missed the top 40 this week?
Mabel One Shot - 3rd Single Released: 31st August 2018 Label: Mabel McVey Video Biography Like the music of her mother and father -- Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey -- Mabel McVey's first releases weren't easy to classify, but were rooted in R&B with a level of maturity beyond her age. Born in Spain and raised in London and Sweden, McVey showed a deep interest in music during early childhood and studied music production. Her parents didn't know that she was writing music until she was 16. Before she turned 20, she released her debut single, the independently released "Know Me Better" -- a moody, yearning piece of breakbeat soul. Signed to Polydor, she had her second single, "My Boy My Town," out by the end of 2015. Shortly after that, she was nominated in the BBC Sound of 2016 poll (won by Jack Garratt). In 2017, she delivered the mixtape Ivy to Roses, which included the single "Finders Keepers," featuring Kojo Funds. - iTunes Top 100 Chart History 2017 08 Finders Keepers (Mabel feat. Afternnon all looking forward to tuning into the full chart today after being busy for half of it last week!
Haven't done this in a while but why not, my retro top 3s this week: 2017 01. Dua Lipa - New Rules 02. Taylor Swift - ...Ready For It? 03. J Balvin feat. Willy William - Mi Gente Ooh this was quite a good chart last year, minus the fairly mediocre 'Sun Comes Up' and the dreadful screechfest 'Sorry Not Sorry'. This era was looking so promising for Taylor after LWYMMD was #1 for two weeks and '...Ready For It?' (the best from Reputation *.*) debuted in the top 10... it's a shame the campaign was handled so badly afterwards 'Mi Gente' and 'Reggaetón Lento' were certainly highlights of the Latin craze! 2013 01. Lana Del Rey vs. Cedric Gervais - Summertime Sadness 02. Klangarussel feat. Will Heard - Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine) 03. Drake feat. Majid Jordan - Hold On, We're Going Home I can't believe these were charting 5 years ago, where does time go?! Flashback to the iTunes week of Roar vs. Applause on here *.* I was quite the Applause stan at the time but it hasn't aged as well as 'Do What U Want', still a fun song though if a bit throwaway. I know a lot of Lana fans don't approve of the 'Summertime Sadness' remix but I absolutely love it still, Cedric was on my radar in a good way due to the guilty pleasure 'Molly' and it's still a euphoric listen... quite a different experience to Lana's usual sound then two chilled songs complete my top 3! 'Earthquake' still remains absolutely awful. x 2008 01. Dizzee Rascal feat. Calvin Harris - Dance Wiv Me 02. The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved 03. Rihanna - Disturbia Gosh, 10 years since these songs were soundtracking my start to secondary school not a particularly vintage week but 'Dance Wiv Me' is definitely a bit of a gem! 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' is one of The Script's finest moments as well. I was a 'Disturbia' stan at the time but it hasn't aged too brilliantly, nevertheless it's one of Rihanna's better darker moments after I couldn't get into the 'Rated R' era too much. 2003 01. Blue Cantrell feat. Sean Paul - Breathe 02. Ultrabeat - Pretty Green Eyes 03. Dido - White Flag 'Breathe' has still held up incredibly well the only Sean Paul involvement that tops it for me was the utterly infectious 'Get Busy'. I feel like I actually prefer the very little known remake 'Pretty Green Eyes 2013' (thanks Starz TV ) but the original 'Pretty Green Eyes' is still fab. 'White Flag' is one of the first songs I remember hearing a LOT as a child, I have a soft spot for it. 'Miss Independent' is a Kelly Clarkson highlight also! 1998 01. Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You 02. Jennifer Paige - Crush 03. All Saints - Bootie Call 'Music Sounds Better With You' absolutely trounces the rest of that top 10, an all-time favourtie 'Crush' is a great pop song also, however I can't help but think of Glee and the awkward crush Rachel had on Mr Schue whenever I hear it 'Bootie Call' is a bit tacky really but there's something about the repetitive 'bring it on...' part and the beatboxing(?) that is quite fun, sorry Manics who were close. |

The 1975 TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships | 2018 2nd Single Released: 15th August 2018 Label: Dirty Hit Chart Statistics NE (30/08/2018) | 26-46-40 Sales: 20k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 46 Sales 41 Audio Streaming __ Video Streaming Video Biography The 1975 are an English rock band originating from Manchester. The group consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew "Matty" Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. The band's origins trace to them attending Wilmslow High School and playing together as teenagers in 2002. Gigs organised by a council worker led the band to formally sign as the 1975. Their choice of name was inspired by a Jack Kerouac beat poetry book. They eventually signed a record deal after their success with Dirty Hit and Polydor Records. Following the release of four EPs, their self-titled debut album was released on 2 September 2013, topping the UK Albums Chart on 8 September 2013. Their second album I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It, released on 26 February 2016, also topped both the UK Chart and the US Billboard 200. In 2017, the band won the Brit Award for Best British Group. In November of 2016, Daniel teased the release of an album in 2018 with a video on his social media. After deleting many posts in March 2018, Healy confirmed the release of new music while also announcing the end of their second album's campaign in April. From April to May of that year, the band released cryptic posters and multimedia. At the end of May, they confirmed their third and fourth albums, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships and Notes on a Conditional Form. The former is scheduled to be released in October 2018, while the latter will release in May 2019. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History 2013 19 Chocolate -1- 2013 30 The City -2- 2013 34 Sex -3- 2013 45 Girls -4- 2014 68 Settle Down -5- 2014 53 Medicine -NAS- 2015 20 Love Me -1- 2015 42 UGH! -IG- 2016 15 The Sound -2- 2016 55 Somebody Else -3- 2018 22 Give Yourself A Try -1- 2018 33 Love It If We Made It -PS- 2018 26 TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME -2- Social Media |

Ooh this is a very welcome re-entry for The 1975!
I still can't get over how different 'TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME' is for them but that chorus just won't leave my brain at the minute, so they're doing something right. |

Cheat Codes & Little Mix Only You - Non-Album Single Released: 15th June 2018 Label: Simco Limited Chart Statistics NE (05/07/2018) | 32-40-28-19-16-14-17-14-13-40-39 Sales: 200k+ Certification: Silver Status: Accelerated Chart Ratio 03 Sales 22 Audio Streaming 16 Video Streaming Video Biography Cheat Codes Los Angeles-based electronic trio Cheat Codes debuted in 2015 with their single "Visions," a floor-filling, radio-ready bite of house in a vein similar to Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. Each of the group's three members -- Matthew Russell, Trevor Dahl, and Kevin Ford -- has deep roots in L.A., working on individual projects before joining forces for Cheat Codes (Dahl once performed as singer/songwriter Pluginstereo). Their different backgrounds helped inform Cheat Codes' stylistically varied sound, which can range from warm pop to outright big house bangers. After the release of "Visions," they quickly followed with the tropical-tinged "Don't Say No" (featuring Dresses), "Senses" (featuring Lostboycrow), and "Adventure" (featuring Evan Gartner). As they gained exposure on social media and spins on streaming services, they joined the Chainsmokers on tour. Successive singles continued to drop in 2016, when they unveiled a pair of global hits: the top ten, multi-platinum "Sex" (featuring Kris Kross Amsterdam) and "Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On)" (with Dante Klein). The following year they released their biggest feature yet, "No Promises" with Demi Lovato on vocals, and embarked on the No Promises world tour (taking them to the U.S., Europe, and Australia). The single was certified platinum in Australia, the U.S., and around Europe, peaking in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. They followed their Lovato hit with "Feels Great," which featured Fetty Wap and CVBZ, and "Put Me Back Together" with Kiiara. In 2018, singles like "NSFW" (with Danny Quest) and "Balenciaga" maintained their exposure, while the trio provided remixes for high-profile singles by Thirty Seconds to Mars ("Dangerous Night") and Sean Paul ("Mad Love"). - iTunes Little Mix Little Mix are a British girl group formed in 2011 during the eighth series of the UK version of The X Factor. They were the first group to win the competition, and following their victory, they signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music and released a cover of Damien Rice's "Cannonball" as their winner's single. The members are Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson. Little Mix released their debut album DNA in 2012, which peaked inside the top 10 in ten countries including the UK and US. This made Little Mix the first girl group since the Pussycat Dolls to reach the US top five with their debut album, as well as earning the highest debut US chart position for a British girl group's first release, breaking the record previously held by the Spice Girls. The group's second album Salute (2013) became their second album to debut inside the top 10 in both the UK and US. Their third album Get Weird was released in 2015. Their fourth album Glory Days (2016) became their first number one album in the UK, and also achieved the longest-reigning girl group number one album since the Spice Girls' debut album 20 years earlier, and the highest first week UK album sales for a girl band since 1997. In the UK, the group has earned four number-one singles, including "Wings", "Black Magic" and "Shout Out to My Ex". The group won Best British Single for "Shout Out to My Ex" at the 2017 Brit Awards; they have also received several other awards during their career, including two MTV Europe Music Awards, two Teen Choice Awards and two Glamour Awards. As of October 2016, the group has achieved four platinum certified albums and twelve certified singles in the UK. Little Mix appeared on Debrett's 2017 list of the most influential people in the UK. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History Cheat Codes 2016 09 Sex (Cheat Codes x Kris Kross Amsterdam) -NAS- 2016 36 Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On) (Cheat Codes & Dante Klein) -NAS- 2016 24 Shed A Light (Robin Schulz, David Guetta & Cheat Codes) 2017 18 No Promises (Cheat Codes feat. AJ Tracey LO(V/S)ER - 3rd Single Released: 29th August 2018 Label: AJ Tracey Chart Statistics NE (13/09/2018) | 38 Sales: - Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio TBA Sales TBA Audio Streaming TBA Video Streaming Video Biography West London grime MC Che Wolton Grant (aka AJ Tracey) rose through the ranks of pirate radio, becoming one of the leading figures in U.K. grime's second generation of artists. Grant knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in music, due in part to his parents; not only was his dad a former rapper from Trinidad & Tobago, his mother was a former drum'n'bass DJ from Wales. By age six, Grant had started writing rhymes, coinciding with the first great boom in grime. Although the genre temporarily lost its way, Grant soldiered on, unwilling to give up on his passion for grime. By the time he had reached his early twenties, grime had started another upswing. During this time Grant became proactive in his pursuit of radio spots, working his way up through pirate radio before scoring appearances on Rinse.DM, NTS, and eventually even BBC Radio One. With his reputation in the world of radio firmly cemented, Grant released a string of EPs, beginning with The Front EP in July 2015, followed by the Alex Moran EP later the same year. In 2016, he further solidified his status as an emerging talent, with a combination of solid collaborations, more radio appearances, and the release of the Lil Tracey EP. The end of 2016 culminated with Grant's nomination on BBC's Sound of 2017. - iTunes Top 100 Chart History 2017 75 Quarterback (Secure The Bag!) -1- 2018 51 Mimi -1- 2018 69 London's Calling (GRM Daily feat.
