Happy Friday everyone! Slightly earlier than scheduled today as I have a party to be at later, but here comes my personal chart for this week. Have LSD held on for a fourth week or will big new entries from Olly Murs and Rak-Su end their time at the top? Here's your answer...

CHART COMMENTARY

Well, what did we tell you a fortnight ago? A wealth of big new releases was set to give my personal chart its jump start into the last quarter of the year. And boy have they done so, with no less than six brand new entries to my top 20 this week - and none more bigger than the one which ends LSD's reign at the top with 'Thunderclouds'.

It's been just over a year since we last saw Olly Murs in my personal chart, as guest vocalist on Kungs' 'More Mess', a top 5 hit at the end of August 2017. In the year since, the man for whom the term 'human dynamo' was invented has left his X Factor roots behind and delegated to become a coach on The Voice on ITV. Coggleshall Town, the football club he is a patron of and player for, have moved up a division after winning their last league title, and he also ran The Great North Run with his sister Fay last month to raise money for charity. Oh, and there's also the small matter of the fact he's been recording a sixth album, 'You Know I Know', which will be bundled with his greatest hits and released next month.

And as if to prove that his popularity with me in a now nine year career is quite undiminished, this week he sails effortlessly back into view as the highest new entry at number one, writing himself further into my record books. 'Moves' is now his 14th chart topper on my personal chart, meaning he breaks a duck that was held between him and Girls Aloud for the most chart toppers on my personal chart since 'Grow Up', his 13th number one, climbed to the top for a week's run almost two years ago in November 2016.

It also ensures that he has opened the account of each new studio album release with a number one hit on my personal chart, following 'Please Don't Let Me Go', 'Heart Skips A Beat', 'Troublemaker', 'Wrapped Up' and 'You Don't Know Love' in fine style. The only other acts to have had a chart topper with every first single off a new album in my personal chart history are JLS, The Saturdays and S Club 7 (although their fourth was achieved when they became a sextet as S Club for 'Alive' in November 2002, but we won't quibble over the semantics).

The appearance of 'Moves' at the top also marks a duck break for Olly's collaborative partner on the track which is the theme from the new Johnny English film, Johnny English Strikes Again. US rapper Snoop Dogg has only come in touching distance of a number one once before, when 'Signs', his single with Charlie Wilson and Justin Timberlake peaked at #2 in May 2005, and then a #3 when he guested on Pussycat Dolls' 'Buttons' in June 2006, so this is his first time at the top.

Some commiserations then, to Olly's fellow former X Factor alumni, and current reigning champions of the ITV talent show Rak-Su, for whom the term 'Always the best men and never the groom' seems tailor made at the moment. Three times they have released a single now since their win last December, and still the Watford boys are yet to have a number one on my personal chart. 'Dimelo', their coronation single, played second fiddle to Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect' last Christmas. Then in the summer, 'Pyro Ting', their single with Banx & Ranx was held off by '3 Lions' during World Cup mania.

Now their new single, the delightfully catchy 'I Want You To Freak', has found itself for now, going no higher than a #2 entry behind the all conquering return of Olly Murs. Of course, getting some perspective here, starting your career on my personal chart with a string of #2 hits is no bad thing at all. But for an act with much expectation on them and in their position - particularly as, given the ratings blackhole the show is descending into, they are the first winners of that show in some time with the potential to not go the way of Matt Terry and Louisa Johnson - you can't help but wonder if they're kicking themselves for this string of unfortunate timings.

Lauv moves into the top 5 with a three place climb to #4 with 'Superhero'. It's also 'former X Factor alumni' time at #7, as 2016 finalists Four of Diamonds score their second top 10 hit with 'Stupid Things'. A collaboration with rapper Saweetie, it follows the #5 success of their debut 'Name On It' with Burna Boy back in June, easily making them the most successful new girl group of the year in my personal chart. Since Nina Nesbitt made her top 20 debut with 'Stay Out' back in April 2013, the Scottish singer songwriter has had trouble placing further hits inside my chart - until today. 'Loyal To Me' eclipses even the #17 peak of that debut by entering at #12 this week.

The very bottom two positions of the top 20 find a welcome return for both Robyn and Mumford & Sons this week. The Swedish electro popstar - who had number ones on my personal chart with 'With Every Heartbeat' and 'Be Mine' just over ten years ago, debuts at #19 with 'Honey' (which we're tipping for even bigger things yet) whilst 'Guiding Light', the first single from Mumford & Sons' brand new album 'Delta', set for release next month, makes its bow at #20.

FLASHBACK TOP 10

Your chance to see how my personal top 10 was looking on this week in the last 20 years. This week in 2011: Christina Perri spends a second week at the top, plus a surprise re-entry from Goo Goo Dolls with their classic hit from 1999 after its use in an X Factor audition, and a climber for David Guetta and Usher.

Hello ThePensmith!

Nice to see "Moves" debuting at #1, I'm very glad that we both have the same #1, even though Olly has his 14th #1 in your chart and for me, he has his 2nd #1.

I also like the debuts for "Loyal To Me" and "Guiding Light", the former might be a future hit in my chart!
