For the first time since 2008 someone other than Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi has won the top men's prize. Luka Modric is the Ballon d'Or winner for 2018. Lionel Messi is somehow in 5th place ohmy.gif

I thought Modric would win it this year after helping Real Madrid retain the Champions League and helping Croatia reach the final of the World Cup whilst being awarded the player of the tournament in the process. I have to say it is refreshing to have someone else win it for a change. Mbappe who is 4th will be a winner of this in the future I'm sure.

Agreed about time we had a different winner although can't really argue with the top 2 domination previously. Neymar missing the top 10 is beautiful!

Martin Solveig asked the female Ballon d'Or winner Ada Hegerberg if she knew how to twerk. Ada said that she saw it as a joke and has apologised about it.

Thanks Mack, decent top 5, although I would have had Mbappe ahead of Griezzman!

Mohammed Salah was 6th which is a great achievement for him, Harry Kane got 10th place as well.

Yes it certainly was daft what he said. Don't see Mbappe or Modric being asked that.a

Pretty ignorant of him and completely ruined what should have been a special moment for Ada Hegerberg.

Just highlights the sexism that is still prevalent in sport, not to mention the racism/homophobia etc. etc.
