Season 3 is out and features the remaining books (The Slippery Slope, Grim Grotto, Penultimate Peril and The End). There's 7 episodes in total - two for each book apart from The End.

I'm so ready to start! Perfect NYD viewing *.*

I like how they stayed true to the books but also like they answered a lot of important questions.

I would LOVE if there was a Netflix film or even another series following this, it's been a huge hit and if Lemony Snicket got involved in answering the questions it would be incredibly satisfying. I need a reunion between both sets of twins.

The Man with a Beard but No Hair and the Woman with Hair but no Beard *.*

Watched The Slippery Slope and love the ending - feels so much more dramatic, with a lot more tension and definitely so much darker than the books!

This season was incredible - easily the best and really did the books justice.

I finished this last night, I try to spread these Netflix shows out but this one was difficult to do so laugh.gif I actually wasn't blown away by The Slippery Slope episodes although maybe my expectations were too high after last season, I needn't have worried though, it was a brilliant season - the Penultimate Peril and The End were absolutely excellent. A bit Wes Anderson-esque in places and all the better for it. It felt like a satisfying ending too even though I did read that it differed a bit from the books, I like that it answered a lot of questions but still leaving a bit of mystery as to the specifics (though I am glad they told us what was in the sugar bowl as that bugged me!) and I don't think a slight change in tone was a bad thing given how dark this has been in the past!

I'm so impressed how this got the balance just right between faithful and adding something new, it really was a brilliant show and adaptation. I almost want them to produce new original content, but I'll be careful what I wish for, the story has been told and I wouldn't want to see it tainted.

This whole season has been absolutely incredible. One of, if not the, best book to TV adaptations I have ever seen and my love of the books meant I had VERY high expectations! It really, really helped that they had the author on board as he could help it stay loyal to the books whilst also adding extra bits that enhanced the plot and give away some answers. I actually cannot believe we saw the events that led to the schism AND WHAT WAS IN THE SUGAR BOWL!!!!! AND Lemony meeting the orphans!

I love that they managed to get nearly every single character back for the Penultimate Peril. It's always been one of my favourite books because it feels like the proper epic finale. It helped make me appreciate The End more too as it highlights the more tranquil epilogue to the finale of The Penultimate Peril - seeing it visually kind of suggested it's a bit like them reaching Heaven?? And, of course in this world, not is all that it seems.

It all ended up being absolutely perfect and the ultimate reward for someone who has loved the books for so long, read them multiple times and has waited patiently for them to be adapted!
