Doctor Blind Chart - 6th January 2019

***NEW NUMBER ONE***

Dublin's Fontaines D.C. get the first new number 1 of 2019 with “Too Real” as it surges 5-1. That means Friendly Fires are knocked off the top spot after 4 weeks with “Heaven Let Me In”, which slides 1-3 and is also toppled by the new Grimes single - “We Appreciate Power” - which inches 3-2 and becomes her sixth hit to reach either #1 or #2. New to the Top 10 with their first ever Top 10 hits are The 1975 (up 11-6 with “It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)”) and Erol Alkan with the hypnotic beats of “Spectrum” launching 16-9. Mark Ronson returns to the Top 10, aided by the country vocals of Miley Cyrus who scores her debut Top 10 with “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” which hops 13-8. The full chart follows with EIGHT debuts led by Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lizzo who both scored #1 hits in 2018.
