Released on Netflix on 7th March, The Order is a fantasy/thriller starring Jake Manley as Jack Morton, a freshman at Belgrave University. He joins the titular "order", involved in magic, and ends up in the middle of a battle between the order and werewolves.

I just binged the full season over the past three days, only 10 x 45-50 minute episodes which works pretty well. There's no filler, there's a load of interesting concepts that feel well developed and explained. Seeing everything through Jack's eyes is great too, he's a very likeable and relatable lead. Plenty of great twists and turns, though - I'd never have called Jack becoming a werewolf himself, but it's a twist that shapes the whole season and feels very purposeful, especially as it goes in to involve Randall, Hamish and Lilith.

Really hoping it's renewed for a second season ASAP because I feel like it will only get better with a second season now the basic concepts have been set up!

Episodes 1 and 2 are mostly setting up the premise because one of the most important parts doesn't happen until episode 3! Worth sticking with (no spoilers x)

SPOILERS LIE AHEAD THIS IS YOUR WARNING

I finished season 2 a couple of days ago (not wasted any time laugh.gif) and I was SUPER impressed. Wasn't sure where season 2 would go but the memory loss at the end of the first season allowed for some interesting bonds to play, and notably, for Gabrielle to really come into her own. The plotlines felt more enriched this time around (I suppose by this point, the concepts have been set up so the plots can now flourish), and the characterisations were strong. Vera was my highlight, Katharine Isabelle is INCREDIBLE from start to finish. I liked how Alyssa's plot developed too, and that ending...!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif Jack continues to be a likeable and interesting lead, and I love the Knights. The only disappointment was how little Lilith we had! sad.gif

Also... Vera and Hamish *.* unexpected but amazing pairing, more of them in season 3 please (if it happens, I really hope it will!)
